This was my immediate response as well. It'd be fun to see how CGB even parses a MBM deck, but I think most of them are nonstandard and/or almost devoid of interaction. Probably would not end well without tinkering to make it work for CGB's queue - based on the sorts of players MBM gets matched against, I think the Dark Lord has a very low elo rating and cuts a lot of losses from videos.

I don’t think there is. US copyright says content like phone books and dictionaries can’t directly be copyright-able like recipes. Things like facts cannot be copyrighted. Also relevant are things like game rules aren’t copyrightable. The unique character design and world environments are. (Think the whole D&D rule environment issues of last year) Now, the creative parts, like layouts, specific definitions, ad placements and ad content are creative works subject to copyright. Deck lists are weird, because they are created by the person. But people could make derivative works of deck lists (change 1 card). But just being a factual list of cards might not be creative enough. If CGB just blindly replayed her stream, that is obvious copy infringement. But by playing it in his style, and putting his own commentary, it’s definitely clear.

  • @krimhorn

But giving a shout out to the other channel for making the deck benefits both creators. You get a deck to make content with, and the original creator gets more exposure on their video and their channel as well. Win-win.

I love this deck and have played it for a while, but I wonder: do you think with how many deathtouch creatures there are in it, you lose some of the value from Massacre Girl's wither/card draw combo? Obviously Sleeper/Preacher/Sheoldred are premier staples in black, but I wonder if there are other creatures you could slot in for maybe one or two of them that could push the wither damage better. Or I dunno, maybe then you're relying too heavily on a single card to get most of your value.

I feel bad that with the weak new standard sets we've had, you have to basically replay the same decks every week. Can you tell Wizards to increase power creep per set (and gee, go back to 2 year standard cycle to retain fresh meta balance??)

My vote: ACE_MTG he's a new creator & been doing a great job since early last year. He has some of the same "high energy" & thoughtful deck build & in-game discussion as our CGB. My 2nd vote is Hand of Justice. No one does a deck journey better than him. Cheers!

Sonio made a blue green cave ramp deck I edited it to use more tap and bounce spells and replaced the blitzing thragtusk dude with the land turtle guy sorry idr names off the top of my head but it’s got about a 60% win rate and I have straight clowned some of the top decks in the format including mono red and Boros it does come down to draws tho sometimes you don’t get the life gain and they just roll right over you

CGB you should Go back and play 1 deck from a past set per week against the current standard ladder and see how they hold up i think that would be funny and cool to see your tear it up!
