Interesting thing i learned about massacre girl and wither: phyrexian obliterator still triggers despite wither stating that you deal damage in the form of -1/-1 counters. It is still damage despite being a replacement effect. It was quite an unpleasant surprise to learn that.

For the record, it's not actually a replacement effect: it's just the effect of damage. (Check rule 120.3 if you want the specifics.) But you're right about how it works.

Yep, and that wasn't even the worst Mythweaver Poq experience, my opponents usually have ulamog by turn 6

The Vannifar deck was planning to flicker their cloaked threats, but never managed to find/use their flicker effects. That is why they were not really colourless tribal.

Though it only would have bought you one more turn, In that last game I think the play was to use Davriel's +1 it would have had forced them to have a haste creature or two. It would have prevented a solo attack by Poq and yeah the Ulamog probably means you lost anyway but I guess one more turn is a thing.

at min 35:17 there is another issue with the night of souls betrayal play, you cannot assign combat damage like that anymore sadly, i dont know when, but at some point wizards changed combat damage, so after choosing the order of which creature you have to assign lethal damage to the creatures in that chosen order (see rule 510.1c) had to eat my own words quite embarrasingly on account of learning that during a commander game.

Speaking of monoblack commander was very fun seen cgb playing with the new sheoldred in a big monoblack value pile , the best way of build monoblack pile in my opionion , very versatile against control you have the power to go over the top with big value play supported by the discard effect while against aggro i mean .. you are a monoblack 😂😂

The downside is it's one more card for them to eat. Very small downside but technically could matter in some games

if you have some form of recursion, especially in hand there really is no own side. If grave gets exiled she goes to command zone, there are very few cards that get a lot of benefit for exiling a card in your graveyard. The most common one you will see is restless cottage in some decks, when it attacks it exiles a card and creates a food. But other than that no real down sides.

This looks a lot like my Athereos deck. I won every match with it, and then it put me in the hell queue and I retired.

This is kinda sad. If someone like him who knows the meta, thinks well through his plays, and is a good deck builder can't do it, pretty sure it's an uphill battle trying to make such a cool card work in standard.

If anyone wants to know is why Poq might need a rework, that last game is the best example. Dude was top decking the entire game and it didn’t matter, because Poq is just that ridiculous.

WotC hates long games, for some reason. Mythweaver ends games faster, life gain extends games, so lifegain gets shafted.
