I don't think Black would have gained 40 life at 15:12. Ojer Axonil specifically says "If a red source you control would deal an amount of noncombat damage less than Ojer Axonil’s power to **an opponent**, that source deals damage equal to Ojer Axonil’s power instead." The damage it's dealing to the creatures doesn't also get boosted to it's power.

At least we know that if CGB ever retires from playing MTG, he'll have a very lucrative backup career as a used car salesman.

btw, SHOUT OUT to the editor, I noticed it last episode, but I love the little transition between poses for each of the four in the intro sequence! It represents their personalities and stuff, it's really a nice touch. You're cool. ❤

Shea singing "I'm Still Standing" by Sir Elton John after surviving the Sign in Blood was 💯. Our playgroup frequently sings that one after hanging on with just a few life.

Fun fact. A Japanese Manga exists by Takuma Yokota titled, "Destroy all humankind. They can't be regenerated." It takes place in the 1990's where it centers around two characters who actually play Magic: The Gathering.

It sounded like Blake was going to misinterpret Ojer Axonil on "End the Festivities" - I think Blake was counting lifegain as if each creature would take 4 damage, but Axonil only increases the damage dealt to opponents, so each creature would still take 1. The lifegain would have been somewhere in the 20s, not the 40s.

Yup, it would have been 22. 10 from the creature, 12 from the players. It ultimately didn’t matter due to timely removal, but it’s worth noting

This was my favorite game yet. Decks were sick, vibes were awesome. Huge swings. Really enjoyable all around. Great job guys.

I know that obviously the Roaming Throne makes triggered abilities activate twice since he said humans, but the text still states that Morbid Opportunists can only trigger once per turn. So the 2nd trigger would go on the stack, but see that it's already been resolved once and then say "no sorry, you don't get to draw because you've already done it this turn."

You're on the right track. It actually wouldn't even trigger a second time due to the wording. An ability that says "This ability triggers only once each turn" can trigger no more than once each turn, even if it would otherwise trigger more than once due to an effect such as found in Roaming Throne (see also C.R. 101.2, 603.2d). Something like Pantlaza can trigger multiple times with roaming throne but you will only be able to discover once per turn.

That's shea taking it 5 in a row? Would that be a record for the show? On a table with such consisting removal from CGB and Blake, and Ben chipping in as well... creatures taking it! Great game!

CGB is super nice in person, regardless of how many boardwipes he plays.

During the Ojer/Judith/End the Festivities turn, Blake wouldve only gained 19 life not 40. Ojer Axonkl only increases damage done to opponents not creatures.

Heck yeah Shea I love wolves so to not only see a deck based around them but also win that was freaking awesome. Great job

Voja elfball is so hard to overcome. You actually need Boardwipe tribal against it, because they thought let's put ward 3 on this wolf since not enough lines of power 😑😅

21:08 CGB, if I am not mistaken, you do not need to increase the commander tax if you are putting your commander into a graveyard, only when it is returning to the command zone

Commander tax is increased whenever you cast it from the command zone not when the commander dies, he had it at the right amount it just would've increased when he cast it not when it died again

Because the Rec Sage was untapped and Marwyn was tapped. CGB assumed he was winning that turn so getting rid of blockers was the best play. Marwyn doesn't matter if Shea doesn't untap!

Also deathtouch + first strike combo. honestly judith can just kinda deal with voja pretty easily as well... she's basically a straight up counter but you need to hold your instants for the right time. monoblack also has more than enough to dunk voja and the board constantly. it's just really 1 creature you have to kill like every other huge powerful commander who is in the same exactly category (there's at least dozens of them)
