    This was an interesting video to make. Imagine if I took 7 of the 10 wins, kept one close loss, and made a 1 hour video, I could even title it "HIGHEST WINRATE DECK IN TIMELESS". A lot of people would think this deck is amazing. Is that the right thing to do? I can tell you it works better for KZread. I've done that for years. What do you think?

    Totally true. I've noticed there are certain times when certain decks work for me. Sometimes, no deck works at all and I just lose 70% of the time with any kind of deck. Sometimes aggro takes me up 3 tiers easily, sometimes control does. And then there always comes the point after climbing the ladder like crazy that I start losing like crazy. By now, once I lose 3 games in a row after having a super good run, I just close the game and continue playing the next day because I know that if I continue playing, I'll just end up losing all the progress I made, falling back to a 50% win rate. Or I'll try with a different deck and if that doesn't fix it, I continue the next day. Take what you have and stop going for more. That's actually a super helpful strategy to climb more consistently. Once you notice that you go into a losing streak, stop playing and start again another day. I don't know why it works, but it does. Also, the first game after entering a new tier is always a loss. I think it happened only a handful of times that I entered a new tier and won.

    With the right combination of fetch lands, hand smoother gets dumb brain and anything works. After that it's just recreating power creep strategies from yugioh. 2 removal per starting hand with around 50% draw ratio(handtraps), and everything but major engine creatures create tempo even if removed. Tempo got really fast so in this meta things like 3 mana removal are too slow and expensive. Going first became a very important part of meta last few months, and exiling is now useful.

    How is this supposed to get Delirium for Dragon's Rage Channeler? It needs to draw either a Bauble or the single fetchland. The Channeler is far better if you can get Delirium reliably. Edit: The Reckoner Raids count, of course. Still seems too hard to get Delirium.

I don't think I won a single match on the draw .. but I don't have a good collection and only did a bit less than 20 plays in bo1 plat1 .. was plat2 and geting close to plat3 so i stopped

However, the games I really don't care to see are the ones where one side is massively mana screwed. Even the sweetness of beating mono-red is dulled if they've been stuck on 1-2 mana all game. That said, I mostly enjoy you playing Esper colors for value, so this video was second monitor content for me anyway haha.

    So the 1-land keep: With 16 hits and 8 looks you only have a 68% probability of hitting a second land. The hand-smoothing algorithm in Bo1 only provides a probability of getting the average distribution of lands and spells. A 7-look 2-land hand is only 60% to have one in the opening so, yeah, don't keep a 1-land hand. The curve on this deck is very low but it's centered around multi-spelling and getting extra value off of the Eidolon triggers so if you keep a 2-lander you can at least start pushing through extra damage and bonus looks at your third land but if you're stuck on one land then, as we see in the video, it's really difficult to get that momentum the deck needs.

  • @LordZurkov

    @LordZurkov

    6 ай бұрын

    Three reasons I can think of. Kumano *needs* a creature on chapter 2 to be decent, and without it's strictly worse than Okiba IMO. This deck is not as likely to have a follow-up creature as RDW (and all the creatures it has are best played before your noncreatures). DRC also doesn't have haste, which makes putting counters on it a lot less valuable. Okiba pinging on the second chapter lets you enable Spectacle for free the turn after you play it. Being able to cast spectacle cards precombat matters a lot with DRC and swifty, and the more mana you have available the less likely you'll waste an impulse from LUTS. And last, drain is superior to burn in the mirror. In a racing situation, the first two chapters are a 4-life swing versus the 1-life swing from Kumano. Uniquely, it can also hit through The One Ring's protection.

    I watched a little bit because I enjoy your content, but timeless is a format that I’m not really interested in. Hope you had a good holiday!

    deck might get a certain win %, but you still need to play the deck. here, as usual, taking best of 3 deck and playing it in BO1. maybe cgb could learn to burn well and make it positive in BO1 too. he just needs to commit with his toilet time.
