Good afternoon from the drizly SF Bay Area. My husband and I got involved with a spiritual group in 1980 based on the teachings of Jesus through the Urantia Book, which we still read. BUT, the central figure, while not horrible like Driscoll, had his own issues and the same gifts. He began to mold the group around him and it silently morphed into a cult until it was too loud to lie to one's self about. His name was Vern Bennom Grimsley and if he had had media like we have today I dread to think what he could have done. It is so disorienting to find yourself in a situation you never anticipated and then must extract and heal from. I thought Mike's documentary was riveting.
