I run a shellback banshee, I was directed towards it by my brother it’s what he runs in the army. It fits me perfectly and it has some quality of life things I wanted. I wanted to run side plates just a personal preference the extra weight sucks but I ruck with it every chance I get. I appreciate your wisdom I like taking advice from lots of different people and your approach on physical fitness I think makes a lot of sense. Strong people are hard to kill. I started watching the SERE series I find it very interesting and informative.

I’m running a HRT RAC and you’re 💯% correct about wearing your kit more than just a couple minutes on the range. After wearing mine for just eight hours in Florida in August during training I must say SUCKS! I have great respect for the men & women that wear them in the field day in and day out. Love my chest rig 👍👍!

I just received a government overrun plate carrier from Botach, as red as a fire engine. Got it for SAR duty for a mere $60, but it's gonna need a Qore iceplate because it doesn't have any venting material and if it's a hot day, I'll need the cold from the ice plate to keep the fatigue at bay. Lots of molle front & back!

Plate carrier is purely situational for me now, 90% of my training now is LBE. I’ve come full circle. Might use it if I know the pigs are attacking my home. If I’m fighting the Minecraft war I’m using sustainment kit.

I’ve been telling anyone going back to sustainment. Try the British style. Like the whole yoke suspenders but worn under the armor and get the armor as slick as possible. If your yoke is thin enough, it allows for pretty seamless transition. It’s honestly great for me. I can prone out over naturally. It’s tighter for me than an LBE style system. It helps with strap height. I used the belt out of the FLC for my belt lol. Any vehicle work, and well armor and belt with IFAK in a fanny. I also have a load for a more realistic use case. Watching my neighbor’s cattle. A chest rig clipped into an assault pack, so yeah kinda same page. Mett-tc never stops and some people are stuck in 2012. It’s weird revisiting things you’ve dismissed as obsolete or parlor tricks years ago. Passive aiming: 2006:“you’ll break your nods cherry knock that off” 2024: well yeah that kinda makes sense in a way. lol

Maybe I have my nostalgia glasses on, but I liked the IBA. It is true that my tactical tailor backpack I had wasn't comfortable with the IBA, but it was tolerable with my eagle industries maritime I had on my 2nd deployment. Now I have a Lancer tactical knockoff of the Travis Hailey flat pack, and I like that with the the Army surplus IBA I got. "This is brilliant...but I like this"

I feel like my Marine Friend and his Brother who was Army called your inability to put the plate on the table a "Field Adjustment". Please confirm this is true! I also have a OneTigris Chest Rig, and found a OneTigris Plate Carrier that has "similar" characteristics to your PC, but its full elastic; sadly no opportunity to add Molle stuff on the sides, but quite comfortable on runs.

I've got a pc with steel plates, BUT I'm going through physical therapy right now with sciatica from my left hip to my left foot with neuropathy in my whole left side and both feet, coupled with me being in my 60's. I don't know if I'll ever be able to support that much weight on my body, let alone an LBE and pack. So I'm screwed unless a miracle happens.
