It actually stays surprisingly well. I painted my chrome grill on my bmw about a month ago and have seen no chips, scratches, or peeling and that surprises me due to the amount of rocks and whatnot flying off of other cars' wheels! really impressive

MultiTerpen I understood most of it, I just got confused because first you said you can NOT do thin layers, but then you said that your can said 4-6 layers, but when you did the next project you did 2-3 layers and that came out better? So less = better? or more = better?

The plastidip is fragile before it "cures" after 2-3 hours it won't come off unless you want it to.

You're correct, but what i was trying to say is that it won't come off if someone passes their hand across the car, unless he wants to scratch it, then it will come off. Like for example using your fingernail.

***** You're talking shit m8. I've reasonably tried short of using a key to mar the finish of 3 separate dip jobs of my own right before removal. Any scratch that would visibly mar 5-6 coats of cured dip would cut through the clear coat on any other paint job, the difference is you can't peel your paint off and do that panel again for 50$. I'm blown away by the concentration of zealous shit talkers floating around the dip videos. Success doesn't lie, DYC is doing _very_ well and so are a number of independent installers located all over the US.

***** It may not be as durable, but you can easily repaint a panel for the one day in 3 years someone decides to key your car. Which would fuck up paint as well.

***** I'm preparing to start a business installing vinyl wraps among other things. As such I can unequivocally say, you are lying through your teeth. There is no shop on earth that will wrap a car for the roughly 500$ most shops will charge for a standard dip. Let alone using 3M metallic wrap compared to a DYC color flip. Furthermore any wrap will peel about the same as properly done dip on the same surface. I just can't wrap my head around all the lies. You people obviously don't have businesses with competing models, so what do you gain from spreading lies about plastidip?

I dipped my Pontiac G8 white just like this video. It came out really good but it was just a pain to take care of. i had the roof black and the grill, rims, hood vents black too. i took it all off because it would like "stain". Whenever I would get gas, the gas would stain the white dip. And it would always get dirty and it would leave a rough surface. I still love plasti dip but i just don't recommend white. Thanks.

Its pretty durable,,Did it to my car, it has been 4 months now. no rips or tears. Deff, recommend it . I will have to see how it withstands this winter, even if it gets a couple tears its easily fixable, and plus the dip is pretty cheap,,I mean u could have a new color on the car every year for like $150.

That actually looks very clean. A lot of people hate on this plasti dip stuff. If you do it right and have enough care with it I think it could turn out nice... One question though, I was messing around one time and wanted to see what my wheels looked like if they had white dip on it. (Eventually took it off) but what I realized was since the dip leaves sort of a rubber feeling to it, it attracted a lot of dirt and just didn't mix well with a regular environment. Is there something I missed here? Like some clear coat or some sort of protection?
