Plasticity 3d. Version 2024 might not be for you! BUG FIXERS.

Фильм және анимация

this video was made purposely based on certain questions I've been receiving on plasticity ever since it got out.
should we be concerned about Plasticity 3d? i think the software deserves our attention. a lot of work as been put into it and am already appreciating its features and capabilities already. the CAD software world is about to take a different turn.

    Man, nice video 👍 Differences that I already see between 3DCoat and Plasticity: Plasticity is designed, thought out with a lot of intelligence and real attention to how the end user will use the tools and interface. Everything is much clearer and faster in Plasticity, the layout of the interface, the arrangement of tools, etc...You only need a smattering of CAD to create beautiful models right away. You want my truth about 3DCoat? 3DCoat is very powerful, has a ton of features and functions but.....organized tremendously. It's a Ferrari under the hood, but with the body and interior of a World War I tank. The interface is outdated, the controls are scattered all over the place in an unnecessarily complicated way. The brushes are many, but so many of them are poorly differentiated from one another...the shortcuts are still unreliable after years, it's incredibly full of big and small bugs. In short, it's a huge mess...interface, commands and worflow should be entirely redesigned to be more professional, stable and perform better. Summarizing the downsides: -useless redundancy of brushes, tools and functions.Sometimes having more...or showing more, is worse! - poor design of the interface, commands and especially the interaction between them -constantly plagued by many bugs It also has many positives of course, which everyone knows about. I wish Plasticity and 3DCoat the best and hope they improve, both have enormous potential.

    F360 (precision mech design/build assy) + Plasticity (artistic-based workflow for hard surface artists) + Blender (polygonal modeling, massive add-on tools, rendering) + Substance Painter (texturing) + Photoshop (composition) : 🔥 . as a 20yr user of SW and 3 yr user of F360, can tell you that using Plasticity will accelerate your right hemisphere for concepting and creating NURBS-based bespoke models. as an early adopter and beta-teater of Plasticty, we’ll cage match this s/w against Rhino/MOI for tailored use case. Nick Kallen is an awesome developer and will morph this product into an industry standard. mic dropped.

    Yes for still rendering plasticity should be preferred but for animation you have to rely on poly-modelling.

    @@rajendrameena150 Wrong. Plasticity has obj exporter. So you can export your model to any 3d software and anímate there. Actually Plasticity has been created for this purpose - for fast modeling in NURBS for hard surface objects and do anything you like in Blender.

    Plasticity isn't designed to replace established CAD software - that's the whole point! It's allowing the user to utilise power of solid modelling and NURBS (at a fraction of the price) combined with the familiarity of their existing 3d cgi app. I think it's amazing

  • @parelt
    @parelt Жыл бұрын

    It’s not a replacement for Rhino- but in many ways it is way more functional. If you are a Solidworks or Solidedge user that wants a lightweight concept iterator that is more artistic this is a handy support app. (I see this request a lot- see how popular Blender is in auto)

    Plasticity is for artists. This is why it has simple controls and simple interface. It's quick and easy to use and get your head around, no overly complex tools or processes and it has the tools you need for most operations. People like Plasticity precisely because it's not overly complex, and for most users it doesn't need to be. There are plenty of Nurbs programs for industrial use and for product designers, but most artists have little interest in them because traditionally they have been large, complex, awkward to use and a general pita. Plasticity and MOI 3d are both easy to use and comparatively basic, but both are easy to use and understand. Artists have enough complexity in their normal 3d poly and 2d programs without complex Nurbs software to remember as well.

    I followed a tutorial yesterday. Found it really simple to use and powerful for basic hard surface modeling. As a newbie I struggle to get the same results in Blender. Plus it's pretty cheap. I'll probably buy it when the trial period expires, although I would like to be able to use my SpaceMouse with it 😕 no 3DConnexion support as of today...

    I think, right now the one usergroup that would really profit from Plasticity would be SketchUp users, they probably would love all of Plasticitys features. And looking at the SketchUp Pro pricetags (which are yearly, not permanent) SketchUp Pro users might even be way better off with the Plasticity Studio version.

    I've tried Plasticity for a bit , its so buggy , still huge advantage over Fusion 360 if you are doing game art but also comes with its own issues , if I buy it for 99$ all I get is a v1 , they could update it to a v2 tomorrow and I'm left with the buggy mess that is still missing some important features
