I personally love the theory that this Sheen is actually a clone, like in that episode where Jimmy clones himself and creates all those flanderized versions of himself, which makes sense when you take into account how much more obnoxious and dumb Sheen was in this show compared to how he was in Jimmy Neutron proper. Plus, Jimmy setting up a series of deliberately enticing notes to an empty lab with a shiny new rocket seems like a plot he'd hatch up to get rid of Sheen's annoying doppelganger.

Also makes sense as throughout the show, Sheen rarely, if EVER cause I barely remember any episodes despite seeing almost all of them, obsess over Ultra Lord. Sheen had this incredible knowledge and love over Ultra Lord and even would get ideas from episodes or compare situations to a moment in Ultra Lord. In Planet Sheen, I don't remember him EVER saying "Oh this is like Ultra Lord Season 2 Episode 5 when he got lost on a planet of apes" or "we could do like Ultra Lord Season 10 episode 3 when Ultra Lord made the Swamp Creature turn into a cat" or anything like that. So the clone theory makes a lot of sense. Also makes sense why he would cheat on Libby. Clone Sheen would have never met Libby or not have the same feelings.

I suppose my main problem with Planet Sheen is that they made Sheen way dumber, like don't get me wrong he was dumb in Jimmy Neutron but it was never at the point where you wonder how he functions on his own. Plus Sheen never really seemed to care about getting home for some reason, and they completely took away his Ultra Lord obsession too, all in all I think it definitely had potential just not with the direction they went in.

I know right? Sheen was never bright but in the main series, he still had one thing that made him stood out: Common sense. Like i remember one scene in an early episode where there was a meteor heading to Earth and the president was like "Meh i don't care" Sheen said "Yeeeeeah so he lost my vote". He also knew when Jimmy's inventions may even seem too much and will speak up. However, Sheen in Planet Sheen seems to left his brain back on Earth

Oddly enough, Jimmy Neutron wasn't being broadcasted in my country when I was younger, but Planet Sheen was. It was my first introduction to the franchise, to the point that I thought: _"Wait, that J.N kid has a TV show? And there's a human Doppy?"_

It aired in my area during late 2010 or early 2011.

I know Mike Gasaway, one of the “creators” of planet sheen. He directed a bunch of episodes of jimmy neutron. He told me and some of my students that essentially this concept was never supposed to involve sheen. Basically just a man who travels looking for intelligent life on other planets. Only to find the life isn’t all that intelligent. Nickelodeon loved the idea. But said it had to be a kid… they also wanted it to be a character they already knew. So they asked it to be Sheen. Mike stepped away before the series was done. He doesn’t seem real happy with what they did to his concept.

It sounds like a good concept, it kind of makes me think of Prometheus and Bob. A short series on Kablam of an advanced alien trying to uplift a caveman, which would always go horribly wrong. It would've been more interesting if the concept played out more like that, except with a human trying to teach lifeforms of different technological levels, though would have difficulty in various ways. It's a shame that it was wasted like it was.

That sounds fairly interesting. It actually maybe could have worked with Jimmy at the helm and some of the main cast there. The concept doesn't work though without a straightman (or someone of basic or better intelligence) to bounce off of, so I can't imagine why they'd enlist Sheen. I think the monkey was kinda the "smart" straightman character, but he was too ignored and not prominent enough for it to work. The cast was basically the cast of JN, except everyone's dumber and more gullible, the main character is a complete idiot, and the only characters with basic sense and reasoning abilities are completely ignored.

Plus they could have did more with the art style too sense they didn't have to stick to Jimmy Neutron's style. If they wanted a side character maybe they could have a flea or tick that was on the monkey as the side and as comedic relief. Just something that could be a stowaway. Kids would have loved it.

I think it was the network overestimating the breakout popularity of Sheen and waiting *way too long* for it to come out. People liked Sheen in small doses. The network shoveled him down our eyesockets like they're shoveling Patrick down now, thinking the fanbase was still there.

It should've been a one-off TV movie like what Hey Arnold! and Rocko's Modern Life eventually did. Of course, those two came way later, but it would've been more effective.

Honestly it probably would have done great if they wanted a decade or so after ending Jimmy Neutron and done it a short spin off adventure with a neat bow wrapped around it (like Jimmy immediately comes to pick up Sheen after the plot and we see characters we actually like and some fun moments with them meeting their alien counterparts (or just Carl meeting his).

I'm surprised this never happened with Grrr from Invader Zim, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried back in the day

Lol, I remember when this show first premiered I didn't understand the jokes ngl.

Even as a kid, I had a little theory about the nature of this show. Though I only watched a few episodes and forgot the series existed until years later. Young me thought at the finale, it would be revealed that the whole show was just a simulation made by Jimmy. Sheen is actually in a vr-headset type contraption, for how long? I'm not sure The reason? To finally teach Sheen a lesson about messing with Jimmy's inventions, and to prepare for unseen consequences. In this case, being stranded on a far off but habitable planet. It would explain why in-universe the aliens look the same, its because they're copy-pasted models that Jimmy created. Jimmy's avatar is Mr. Nesmith, cause they're not only intellectually similar, but also Nesmith has a similar hairstyle to Jimmy. And also explain why Nesmith doesn't really look like an ape. Jimmy is also using a voice filter. All the characters are either mo-cap or traditionally animated. Something like this would take years to program this whole thing; but given Jimmy's intelligence, it probably only took a few months. Carl wanted to be apart of this simulation too, but didn't even try to disguise his avatar from his real self. The characters are voiced by either characters from the original Jimmy Neutron series or the same voice actors within said universe. It would also explain why even by Jimmy Neutron standards, the world makes no sense. Maybe a few times the world would've glitch out or the actors would break character; forcing Sheen to finally use his brain to figure out something's up. Obviously this is not what the creators or even the network intended, but it would've made alot more sense.

It feels like the writers of Fanboy and Chumchum broke into the writers room, accidentally deleted the scripts and attempted to write them from memory.

Actually the show was changed from being less serious due to it originally being too similar to Avatar. The movie with blue people, not the Nick show. I'm also surprised that you didn't talk about the fact that Planet Sheen was originally gonna be a completely different show separate from the Jimmy Neutron franchise. And while we're on the topic of the Jimmy Neutron franchise you should talk about the Jimmy Timmy Power Hours.

Sean was a great character. I loved him in Jimmy Neutron. He was great because he balanced well with Jimmy but without Jimmy, he was extremely overwhelming.

I wish they would’ve just made another season of Jimmy Neutron.

Yeah, I hate the animation it hurts my eyes. As Jordan pointed out they didn’t really put much effort into the backgrounds. Also, I think the shadows or shading just makes the show look worse and less realistic than Jimmy Neutron. The colors in the original show were crisp, bright, and pleasant to look at even if there wasn’t as much shading or detail. In Jimmy Neutron things felt very 3-D this looks more 2-D to me.

You know that ending scene from the JN episode "Brodcast Blues" when the principal talks to the kids about their show? I feel like that scene is exactly how PS was made. JN's forth and last season was scrapped for this.

Should have been a movie as you said, with Jimmy and Carl on just as much as an adventure as Sheen, whilst trying to find him. At the climax, all the ridiculous plans Sheen executed on the planet could trump Jimmy's well thought out plan and save the day from whatever. To everyone's monumental confusion.

I always thought the show would end with Jimmy rescuing and scolding Sheen for stealing his rocket. As bad as the show was, at least let us see how it ends. It kinda irritates me that the show was canceled, but it does make sense why it was

Apparently, they didn't want to end the show as soon as it did, (Thank God it did) but the voice of Jimmy apparently called it quits, so they had to improvise.

The biggest crime this committed Is not just the absent of Jimmy hoping out of his way to rescue his friend but *knew* he wanted to give rid of him for his own good for what he rid to him from his past adventures and already plan on getting rid of Carl as we speak for so causing his sanity.

This really should've been a TV Movie. Switch between Jimmy building a ship to track down Sheen, and said teen slowly growing to be a hero to the people of Zeenu. I mean, back in the day I kind of tolerated Sheen and related to him as the weird kid, but once Planet Sheen aired I was far past my toleration limit. As for that answer to your past self, it ended in 2006 and Planet Spleen was created solely to test the limits of the then eight-year-old fanbase and overestimated the popularity of Sheen.

The main problem with Planet Sheen is that they made Sheen way dumber, like don't get me wrong he was dumb in Jimmy Neutron but he wasn't this dumb (Hell in the junkman episode when they showed their brain size he has the second largest brain after Jimmy and before Carl). Plus Sheen never really seemed to care about getting home for some reason, not caring about his dad, his friends and possible GIRLFRIEND. Yeah let's not forget Sheen completely throwing Libby under the bus for some blue alien girl despite what the main show was doing with Sheen and Libby and he never mention Ultra Lord at all you think being on a alien planet would have Sheen trying to re-enact a Ultra Lord episode or something.

My younger brother had an interest in this show since Sheen was fave character of his. The show never interested me, and tbf, that opening constantly suggesting that Sheen was THIS idiotic that he would act so far out of character to hijack Jimmy's rocket and manage to somehow reach a far away planet doesn't feel like the Sheen I watched a movie and three seasons of. It's *waaay* too big of a flaunderization to accept this as part of the same canon where he had enough senses to know how to use his Flash powers in that one or two episodes where Jimmy and friends gained temporary powers from random space radiation. Can't remember seeing my brother watching anymore episodes after it aired and then disappeared. If there was ever some form of revival of the Jimmy Neutron franchise, I would LOVe if they reduced this to a weird dream Sheen has or outright never acknowledges it.

This show is like Deadpool. Wade as a normal man is Jimmy Neutron but then Nick injected it with a strange chemical and it turned into a hideos testicl-like monster called Planet fkking Sheen.

I feel like the series would’ve made more sense if this is what happened: While messing around with Jimmy’s stuff, Sheen accidentally clones himself, but before doing so, he messed with the settings of the cloning machine resulting in the clone being even more dumb and annoying. Upon seeing this, Jimmy wants to freeze the clones like he did to his, but Sheen begs him not to, saying he believes his clone deserves to live a life. Jimmy agrees but tells Sheen he plans to trick the clone into flying yo another planet. When Sheen asks why, Jimmy states “One Sheen is more than enough for this world or any other”

I like how it never gets a finale of Sheen coming home so he must still be there

I think for all the weird stuff that happened in the original Jimmy Neutron, it helped that the main character acted as a straight man to all that insanity. An outlandish character like Sheen however does not play off well against an outlandish world. Also I am glad to hear some Pinter appreciation.

The fact Sheen went from an alien outsider to the Emporer's advisor in one episode is so stupid. Killed any chance of meaningful conflict it would have.

I’ve always thought that the reason Jimmy never saved him was cuz Sheen messed up the rocket’s guidance system, so it just took him a while to find him. Turns out Spongebob just told him it’d be too expensive to bring him back.

Even tho this show isn't definitely not the best, I still am glad they at least tried doing something with Jimmy Neutron after it ended. At least they thought enough to give Jimmy Neutron another chance in a different perspective. From one of the biggest Jimmy Neutron fans ever, A for effort.

Ok there was a single moment on the show I do fully remember and it’s because it made me laugh so much. Dorkus appears practically out of nowhere and freaks the shit out of Sheen who shouts asking where Dorkus came from. Dorkus in deadpan fashion replies “My mother” 😂 I died laughing over this and I will actually will say this to people when I catch them off guard or just ask me questions like “Where did you come from??” Say what you want but that one bit from this shit wreck of a forgettable spinoff added quality to my life

I didnt have a problem at all much with Planet Sheen but I do get where he's coming from about the jokes and the plot being repetitive.

I remember when this came out and I watched the first episode and said screw this show. Never looked back. I’m glad you made this video so I can see what it was about

I remember when this show came out, I was thinking why didn't they just bring jimmy neutron back ? The fairly oddparents had a 2 year hiatus and returned. The same could've happened for jimmy neutron. We could've gotten a season 4, nick said F that. I really hope nickelodeon revives the series. Especially with next year being the show's anniversary. Would be cool if they announce it's being revived later this year.

As great as that would be, another studio would have to pick up the rights to it because the original is out of business. They would also have to recast the voice of Jimmy because the actress who voiced him passed away a few years ago.

Glad to see this abomination being covered and you're right Jordan, a great idea on paper, horrible execution, honestly I do think Sheen working as a double agent against a corrupt leader would've gave the stakes needed to make the show at least interesting and to make the Monkey friend of his the closest thing to Jimmy he could have and that classic dynamic that could've saved the show, but we're in the timeline where it failed hard.

I remember constantly thinking Pintar was the Nickelodeon watermark animation when I first saw him. Nick's watermarks were crazy back in the day.

I honestly would've loved if they had gone with their original, more serious version of the story. It's such a shame that it never happened.

I'm shocked the ending wasn't just Sheen wakes up asks where the aliens and monkey are, everyone being confused. And Sheen looking at the camera going it all must've been a dream... or was it?

It's a shame we never got a proper finale where Jimmy and his friends rescue Sheen from Zeenu,it was originally planned,but it was never made due to poor ratings,production costs,and the series being cancelled.

I think the Pilot Episode being named Pilot was a pun for Sheen driving the spaceship

Making a Jimmy Neutron spin-off staring Sheen is like making a spin-off of Danny Phantom with Jack Fenton failing at hunt ghosts.

It's obviously clear Sheen is a character who only works in small doses. If you overuse him, then he starts to be really annoying.

This show was a fever dream especially ugh…….the unicorn

It's so frustrating, Planet Sheen should have been left on drawing board and gone no where. Not every show needs a reboot or a remake or a spin off. Jimmy Neutron was a product of its time and at the end of its run it would've been remembered more fondly because someone will inevitably bring up Planet sheen and the rest is tarnished.

Can please do one on “How To Rock”? It was 1 of the best shows & they canceled it after 1 season...I’ll never forgive Nickelodeon for that one

The least they could’ve done would have been to give Jimmy neutron an actual finale.

I recently had a Show Bible Creating workshop with someone from Nickelodeon who according to IMDB allegedly storyboarded Planet Sheen. After a rigorous 4 weeks of class and trainings, I think it's worth noting that if his words are taken as truths then Nickelodeon and people who worked there have this odd mindset where the show they write (pitch) must be fun to kids, and anything slightly mature and/or serial will not sell and run the risk of not being successful. I think the same mindset might've went into the creation of Planet Sheen, but I can't really say that for sure

Weirdly enough as a kid my biggest gripe with this show is that, to my knowledge, the show never ended with Sheen coming back home so it felt like he was just stuck up there forever…

It was only cancelled because the production studio went out of business otherwise it would have been picked up for a second season which was the planned.

Here's an idea: Instead of taking a side character from another show and throwing them into another, why not create an entirely new show with fresh and unique characters? They could have even put "By the creators of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron" and it would have probably pulled in a good chunk of fans. I know if I had seen that I would been all for it since I loved the original growing up. This show was just lazy. In fact, I'll throw out a random idea that may sound a bit more interesting. An average high schooler obsessed with old science fiction movies finds himself being abducted by a race of aliens who plan on sapping Earth of all its resources in order to save their own while abducting over half of the planet's population to use as slaves, exabits in their museum...and possibly food for their giant pets. However, the protagonist soon learns that it may not be curtains for them yet when he's given info by a mysterious figure that this alien race values strength above all else, and if he so chooses, can challenge their world's leader. Of course the leader figure finds it very humorous and accepts the proposal, however it is they (the protagonist) who must beat him and he only has three months. The first season would revolve around his training by helping out his fellow humans and lower alien life forms trapped on the hostile planet, ending with the final confrontation with the leader. Sorry if that sounds very amateurish, but that's all I could muster from the top of my head.

The show was actually originally going to be called Red Acres and was about an astronaut meeting alien hillbillies. Nick liked what they were shown but turned it down because the main character was an adult 'cause I guess they wanted a kid protagonist for their core audience to relate to, so it was reworked to have it be about Sheen.

This show being serious could have been really interesting. I love the idea of the whacky goofball character being thrown into a situation where they have to step up.

The only moment I can think of that made me really laugh when I was a kid was when Sheen got in trouble for something so the emperor said,"I'm sorry, Sheen, you will have to be executed everyday for the rest of your life" (this one I still say to this day actually) But everything else is just disappointing...

Even as a kid I missed the jimmy neutron aspect because he was the main character cool guy, but when they made planet sheen it was nothing like the smart sci fi aspect of jimmy neutron where wacky things would happen to normal people, it was the embodiment of chaos and wackiness and gave me a spinning head wondering what i got out of the episode and when we'd see jimmy neutron return after this series... Didnt happen, I'd compare it to an era when fanboy and chum chum was real popular and overshadowed this shows slower animation

I actoullly heard the original idea wasn’t even going to be a sheen spin-off. It was originally about a fast food employee (a original character) getting launched into a space

I had high hopes for it because everyone loves Jimmy neutron. Then planet sheen came out and everyone didn't like it. The humor was very... fanboy and chumchum only worse because it's from something we know. No I wasn't expecting sheen to get character development and become the next boy genius. If anything I expected him to mature a little more and see him go from the comedic side character to at the very least, a generic protagonist. Instead he's just dumber, more... unhinged since the voice of reason is now pushed as a side character and the people around him aren't aware of his stupidity and gaslight him instead. It's like, seeing a child mess up so badly that it works. Then the adults do nothing but encourage the child to do it again only for it to happen once more.

Weird confession. I never got into Jimmy Neutron when it was big, but when this aired I'd rarely miss anything from Planet Sheen. Having gone back out of curiosity, I have no idea how I was so crazy about it, even with its short run.

I actually met Jeff Garcia who voiced sheen at a Comedy club he was hilariously funny . I was able to even take a picture with him after the show

I always thought Jimmy’s warnings were suspiciously placed and specific and therefore I assumed Jimmy was doing some reverse psychology shit on Sheen to get rid of him for some reason

There's a theory out there that's basically this but much less cruel and out of character.

Wait Dorkus is a boy name? The only other place I’ve ever heard of it was in 7 Brides For 7 Brothers where it was the name of one of the brides. Hilarious to my 5 year old self.

I remember seeing the previews for this show, and I thought that the Carl look-alike WAS Carl, but he underwent some mutation that turned him into an alien. Like the planet Sheen went to causes humans to undergo some biological evolution, but Sheen was either to stupid to effect or some other plot-armor reason, thus making him ruler of the planet for some reason? Idk, this show just did not need to exist.

There was only 26 episodes.... WTF I thought there was atleast 4 seasons as it felt like I saw new episodes everytime I glimpsed tha pain of seeing it

This definitely felt like something with at most 3 episodes of content. Probably, would have been better to do a series focusing on the Jimmy Neutron universe while not with Jimmy.

When I was younger, for some reason, I always likened Sheen to someone like Joey Wheeler from “Yu-Gi-Oh!.” Me thinking this made me hopeful for “Planet Sheen”, because I assumed Sheen (like Joey) would’ve gotten character growth and shown to be a guy with depth. I was super wrong about that. I don’t know what I was thinking as a kid.

I really don’t think it’s a coincidence that sheen landed on a planet with the same name as Scientology’s great alien overlord.

These videos randomly reminded me of the Jimmy Neutron/Timmy Turner crossovers, and now I really wanna see you do a video on them

To me this show just reminds me of those purgatory days between tv and streaming, where TV was dying and netflix had family guy

if I’m to blame for quality YT content like this, then so be it

The sad part is, the animation itself is really good. I'm not sure if it's better than the original Jimmy neutron in terms of how the characters move, but it's honestly pretty impressive nonetheless. It's just awful that it was connected to such a terrible idea for a show.
