Dude, I totally remembered when cartoon network use to air that show but when years went by, the show stopped airing cause the producers who ran out of episode ideas so technically the show stopped airing then, however there's an amino community with a few friends of mine who are trying to keep the fandom alive

I remember one episode where Tommy and Robotboy were linked by a headband so that the former would copy the latter's movements in order to win in a fight against his bullies. But then partway through, Robotboy has to save the day against a villain (I forget who), and tommy's all by himself... but he's still convinced that Robotboy's there and does all these badass moves and wins in the end. Once he realizes that he beat them by himself, though, he passes out. Understandably so. I loved this show as a kid.

I Loved when Robotboy met his ‘brother’ Protoboy and how he tried his hardest to reform him and how he simply wanted his own brother like Tommy. It was a similar experience for me at school being an only child which made me wonder what it would be like to have a sibling.

Tbh, pros and cons to having siblings. You love ‘em, you hate ‘em, it’s annoying but fun.

I've not seen this show in over a decade, but I really liked it when I was little; I used to get so hyped everytime RobotBoy would become superactivated.

As someone who is Irish, the mention of sky games immediately gut punched me in the nostalgia and I miss that service.

I think this show is great, especially with the action scenes and relationship Tommy has with Robotboy! It’s a mix of badass and adorable :D I also really love Constantine, I always find it interesting when a villain’s sidekick isn’t as evil as them, or is even a friendly enemy to the heroes on occasion. I believe it was stated in one episode he was adopted by Dr. K and he threatens to take him back to the orphanage if he doesn’t carry out orders.

I remember it very fondly, and I'll be damned if I don't love all three of Robotboy's forms This show and My Life As A Teenage Robot still stand out to me as having a _pristine_ aesthetic And wow, kudos to you. This video was more informative and in depth than I expected

so like back in 2005 or 2006, as kid, I went with my parents to visit someone and at this time we didn't have that nice TV at home, but they did, and that was the time when I discovered CN and this was the first cartoon I've seen. And I instantly fell in love with it, so you can imagine how excited I was when I finally got CN at home and could watch the show. So yeah I definately have some memories with the show.

Very underrated series I watched it and it was pretty good I like the characters (except Gus) and it was a show that was sort of brutal in its take downs like Robotboy straight up machine guns enemies.

Self-aware badass battle robot built by japanese scientist does cute and badass things while trying to be like a real human. What's not to love about this show. It was a breath of fresh air in comparison to other shows back in 2005. VERY underrated and definitely worth watching. Glad I grew up with this. Loved this show.

I really liked Robotboy growing up. Since I was a mega fan of Astroboy, this seemed like a reincarnation of that character in a way.

Nice to hear you mention the games made for Sky TV. Playing those games (using a TV remote to control!) is a fun memory that I and other people from the UK have as children.

Honestly given the premise it seemed to be at best a loose interpretation of Mega Man with a western spin, and at worst a ripoff more so than than when compared to My Life as a Teenage Robot or Robot Jones.

@@denniswilliams6519 Mega Man is also in turn loosely inspired by Astro Boy, so it seems a bit odd to single out Robotboy for being a "ripoff". Is it highly original? No, but then all these series are working off the same tropes anyway.

I remember liking the character's art style, specially the one from Robotboy. But there was always something I never quite enjoyed from it, and now that I remember, is how everyone treats the main character, I always felt bad for that kid for always dealing with a lot of stress, trauma or harassment and noone never addressed this theme?

@@GaskyChan omg his dad is a big issue! Even watching this show when i was 9 confused me because of the toxic masculinity that the father has, also the dynamic between the parents wasn't so... The father for some weird reason didn't like when tommy spend time with his mom because she was "making him soft" but the mum was good and probably was the only emotional support for tommy but she wasn't really helping with anything just talking and stepping back

I felt/feel exactly the same! The art style was pleasant but I felt some sort of unease and distance or rigidness from the show, and it was for the reason you just described. The whole setup/world felt unfair and cruel it gave a similar feeling if the main character was an orphan.

I thought I was the only who knew about this show, I remember watching this back in the day, and I thought it was alright. Tommy's character design was very reminiscent to Mac from Foster's Home imo. Also, there were kids meal toys that were released in March 2007 through Hardee's in the Middle East.

Robotboy while rather standard and flawed in many regards, was still a rather interesting show. I'm always a sucker for characters that have different forms. It was always hype as heck whenever that music kicks in and Robotboy goes from this SMOL little friendly robot to this silent but imposing TOWL robot that will kick your teeth in if you mess with him and his friends! XD

I started re-watching it recently and as an adult I realize how OP he was. Mf really deflected LASERS coming toward him 20 at a time.

I like Robotboy's design and concept, the humor in the show was very hit and miss for me and sometimes the jokes were just inserted in strange circumstances. As an adult I can definitely see why Robotboy's speaking pattern was seen as problematic. I think this show needed more of an overarching story behind the episodic nature, because at the core, the inspiration from Astro Boy/Megaman could've been used to its advantage. It just didn't do enough with the foundation to me.

I would argue Dr. Kamikazi was more problematic than Robotboy himself. His name especially is problematic given WHAT a Kamikazi pilot in WW2 was... It'd be like having a Middle Eastern supervillain called Dr. Jihadi. Basically the same thing.

Robotboy's Super Activation is still one of my favorite fighting robot transformations to this day. The battle mode is like a miniature Megas.

You just unlocked my memory of this show, Jordan. I remember this show airing on Cartoon Network growing up.

I used to love Robotboy so much, yesterday I remembered him once again and decided to watch some episodes. And gosh the nostalgia I felt, his super activated designs is such a big hit I love it Great show, fun to watch, great characters and cast, truly amazing experience Hoping to see a comeback of him one day, like a movie or special episode

I never saw many episodes back in the day but I have fond memories of this show and My Life As A Teenage Robot. Wish we had got more of both shows.

I haven't noticed that as a kid, but hoo boy, the artist really liked Genndy Tartakovsky, didn't they. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I love his artsyle as well.

My childhood was on cartoon network during the 2000s. Incredible shows.

I enjoy rewatching robotboy. Just one of the few shows that symbolize my childhood and probably where am now.

As a kid for me this stood number 1 on cartoon Network as the best show and will always be the best part of my childhood, i remember every time he would transform into his mega form it would be so badass. I hope kids growing up now and in the future somehow stumble upon this masterpiece.

Robotboy was actually a show I liked. Then again, I like most shows about robots.

The artstyle of this show I realized influenced my style a lot- I remember not seeing the show when it aired- but discovering it on YT when I was still a bit young after it ended. This and My Life As A Teenage Robot are still two of my go-two childhood comfort cartoons.

I was able to catch this show a handful of times when it first came out in my region's CN. It didn't last very long there, but one time it even got a marathon and I was able to watch it! Really enjoyed it for sure. Dr Kamikaze constantly screaming "Constantine!' (in my regional dub ofc, this one being latin Spanish) was one of the most memorable parts to me

I remember when robot boy got mad and turned red I forgot about this thank you for bringing this to the light

Robotboy is #5 on my list of favorite animated television series. However, while I only watched it casually when it was on television, it was watching the episodes on KZread that really made me a fan. Something tells me Robotboy is more suited as a web series than as a television show. But then why is it so high on my list? Well, two reasons. First of all, I love the animation style. I think this is the show where I got my style for my own animation work. I really like square haeds and styles that make kids look cute. And that provokes my second reason; Tommy Turnbull. Tommy is my favorite character on this show. Not only does he look cute, but he has plenty of compassion for Robotboy. I had to pause multiple times while watching the show so I could see his cute face. As for the action, while I am more interested in Tommy's cuteness, I cannot deny that Robotboy's transformation powers are interesting. And anyone who brings up comparisons to Astro Boy or My Life as a Teenage Robot, well, Teenage Robot is on my list of favorite series too, and Astro Boy joins Pokemon and Beyblade on my list of favorite anime shows. I guess I just love the concept of a robot who wants to be a real person. Sure, I could complain about Gus being selfish, or how there is more gas humor than I could care for, but I have come to get used to those problems quickly. I would gladly watch Robotboy multiple times, and that gives the show a high spot n my favorite television list.

I absolutely love Robotboy! I discovered the show in 2018 and I’ve watched it ever since. I had a few rough times in my middle school days and this show helped me get through those tough times. I’ve practiced Robotboy’s voice for a few years now (I want to be a voice actress when I get older) and I can do his voice pretty well. I love everything about this show, the voice acting, the characters design, the color pallet, even the music. Fun fact: Robotboy even has an official KZread channel. Anyway, Robotboy will forever be my favorite animated series and will forever be in my heart. 💙

Wasn't it the French version that gave Robotboy's super activated form a voice? I know that something like that existed. I loved Robotboy. It was one of my favorites. CN wasn't wrong when they assumed that the show had potential. It really did. It's the behind the scenes drama that ended it too early.

I may not clearly remember the premise of this show. But I used to watch it regularly back when I was like 5 or 6. And I recall that I used to draw Robotboy among others often back then. Because aside from it being relatively easy to draw, it's 'coz the character design is just adorable. This video really brought back lot of memories. Simpler times indeed.

Loved robots as a kid. All sorts of them. Even took stem classes in high school and was on a robotics team. Though my passion for medicine outweighed my passion for engineering. I was like 7 or 8 when this aired and every episode made me hope I could grow up to be a robot boy lol.

Being an enjoyer of My Life As A Teenage Robot, Robot Boy was an instant favorite. Wished both shows had gone on longer.

Also, thank you for bringing up the production details regarding the differences between seasons/series, I've never liked how many people lump the two seasons together as the same entity, when really, they aren't, as they have quite different standards and styles. Charlie Bean RB strived for a good blend of action and comedy, slick animation sequences and higher stakes, while Bob Camp and Heath Kenny RB strived for comedy over action, simpler, slower-paced animation and reletively lower stakes to have more focus on comedy. While they still did action-oriented episodes, like the Protoboy ones, which are notable for focusing more on drama than the majority of the series, they usually didn't hit the same level of action as the first series. According to Jan Van, Bob wasn't interested in action and preferred doing comedy.

Robotboy was my absolute favorite show. When he went into his super mode I would always lose my mind! 😂😅 I loved the theme!

I just found one of your vids in my recommended and now I realise how much of these I watched as a kid and then completely forgot about them.

I loved this show. It was one of my all-time favourites next to Tom & Jerry and Juniper Lee. Damn I miss those days

I completely forgot about this series. It is a really good and unique show involving robots. Most of the characters are likable. Excepting Gus, Tommy's Dad and older brother (The both of them piss me off because of how they treat Tommy.) Plus I kind of feel bad for Constance. He seems like a friendly person who really doesn't want to hurt Tommy and his friends.

Two things that I remember vividly from this show. That kickass super activation theme...and Tommy's mom. You know why.

This show got me through a lot of rough phases growing up, so it holds a special place for me.

This channel reminds me that I've watched a lot of cartoons more than I remember

Anyone remember Chaotic on 4Kids? I watched this so much as a kid and feel like it was super slept on with all the TCG shows that were going around. Even rewatching it now I still think it holds up, would be awesome to review it :)

I remember that show existing. I remember having watched a few episodes when it came on. But I can't for the life of me remember what it was about.

I used to love Constantine as a kid, kind of my pseudo favourite character because he was an evil sidekick with a good heart. Loyal but compassionate. Constantine needed more love from the show than he got

Oh the memories you've unlocked. I remember getting so hyped and buzzing with excitement whenever Robot boy went super mode! I also remember this weird tether ball thing (i think that's its name?) that they had in the show, which I also had in my school. Dunno why but I just remember that sepcifically.

This was a great show to watch as a kid. It was a shame it didn’t stay as long as it could have.
