After one roller coaster of a landing at this airport the pilot came on, "Who needs Canada's Wonderland when you have us?". It wasn't as crazy as the landing in the video but there was a lot of bouncing around in the wind. What makes these landings even more intense when you're a passenger is that all the while you're coming in for the landing, all your seeing is water right under you. You basically don't see the runway until about 2 seconds before you touch down.

That plane seems to be under the influence

Very skilled and focused piloting. Kudos to the flight crew.

I live turbulence but I think this would be a bit much. Skilled pilots.

@@zkool5 Autopilot isn't legally permitted past minimums. This was all hand flying.

Personally, all I'd be thinking is,.. I sure hope if the pilot decides this is a "GO, or, no go" and does a go around.

There was a major cleanup after that flight with every seat having poop stains.

Good God! When it vanished from view behind the building seemed next would the black smoke plume. Heartstopping

Today is May the 4th, or May the force be with you, that was too much force on the plane.

That high tail stabilator is probably what saved theDash 8, in combination with some great aviatin'.

Did the landing as a passenger under those condition and same kind of plane . Not that bad plane look realy easy to take back and be predictable under cross wind condition .

That wind storm lifted a picnic table and chairs around my yard. Trees had severe temporary scholious. With Canada's high taxes, snow and wind storms and shouldn't still be happening.

Pretty sure that should have been a go around, certainly would if it was in the UK.

And you don't even show the plane landing.

Our community plane swayed on right side while landing attempt and the plane landed on the right wing first then left, it was a hard impact, and the pilot did not warn us, but the plane was fine No damages. When it was over everybody clapped and laughed later inside the airport. (I kept saying we almost died)

Good pilot but not that scary... I know cause I've been in a Q400 doing that before and it was just really rocky.

You DO know the outcome, because there isn't a huge news story about it. As for your second comment, the airport and the buildings are on an island, and the footage was zoomed in from the mainland. Even if there wasn't water between the cameraman and the buildings, you should have been able to see that the zoom level was so high that no one could have possibly run fast enough to get to the other side of the building while the plane was landing. That area is also a no-go for anyone but maintenance crew. Maybe think twice next time before you type.
