Pipefitter apprenticeship day 125

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This day is a cold and frigid one. Take my advice dress accordingly to your work environment. This day we had to put up some I beams. We had to work around an overhead crane. Experience what a tag line is used for.

Yeah there’s some days we’re setting finish or running med gas, and there’s some days we’re hooking up chain falls and come alongs and hoisting 12” Sch 80 or a 8” metraflex expansion joint. The things we do are endless. And almost seem out of the realm of what you may think pipefitting and plumbing is. But at the end of the day, it’s about getting the job done. So whatever task you have going, pay attention to the fine details because that’s what makes the difference. Good luck. Keep going. Local 393 reppin

Man I have rigging tonight, if you can practice your knots, getting a rope is a great idea....I’m going to do the same. We’re going over double chokes, using the correct length of straps to do it. Maybe do a vid on tying knots, either way great video bro!

I have a question: do the union give you tools when you first start or do you buy them yourself?

  • @a387658

best thing to do is ask the union when you apply for the apprenticeship, or ahead of time. lots of people I spoke with gave some recommendations of tools to get cause even if they do have some for you to use, if you carry some with you, they will be at the ready should you or your trainer need them and saves a trip

Depends on what you like doing. Do you like problem solving go with ac service. If you like to building things from the ground up then stick with pipefitting
