I thank God every day for blessing me with the best daddy a girl could ask for. He grew up on Pink Floyd and they’ve been my favorite band all my life. I lost my daddy over 5 years ago to cancer and Pink Floyd is my connection to him. I miss him so much, but when I listen to Pink Floyd I feel like he’s here with me. I love you daddy.

No song ever written can amount to *half* the emotion that went into this song. This song is my all time favorite amongst favorites.... I remember listening to this song when i was younger in my bed before going to sleep on my Walkman and just wshing those bells would never stop ringing... It would pain me to hear the song finish. And it still holds that same emotion toady. 20 years later. When he hits that steel guitar it gives me goosebumps unlike any other song can.

Whoever says Pink Floyd is not great without Waters should listen to this song. High Hopes is the best song written by Pink Floyd and possibly the best song in the history of music. I´ve never heard a song that can transmit so many emotions, almost makes me cry every time I listen to it. And that solo, oh man, that sounds like if God was playing the guitar.

We all know Waters was a genius and an important part of the band, but this piece of art also tell us that Gilmour, Mason and Wright are geniuses and that it's not fair to day that Pink Floyd was over when Water was out. They didn't do much after The Wall, but I feel that the Division Bell is underrated, it's genius.

Lyrics in case you want to sing along to this epic song. -------------------------- Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begun Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway Do they still meet there by the Cut There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before time took our dreams away Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground To a life consumed by slow decay The grass was greener The light was brighter With friends surrounded The nights of wonder Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide At a higher altitude with flag unfurled We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever

I was at the P.U.L.S.E concert the night of the filming in Oct '94. Division Bell was relatively new and although I had been a long time Floyd fan, this was my first time hearing it. High Hopes struck me (and my friends) and we sat in awe listening as the words and chords rolled over us. The solo at the end nearly ended me, I was welling up as the lyrics struck home. And my personal view on this is that so many love this song (even if they don't normally listen to PF) is that we can all identify with it. A song that echos life, the hopes we have, the things that change and what replaces he once familiar. Moving on and looking back, regretting much but happy in equal measure as to where the road has taken us. The lines around "ragged band that followed in our footsteps" echos the generation behind us, changing the things we once held familiar. It's a lyrical genius that is backed with beautiful musicality and rhythm that just gets in to your soul and flicks the switched of nostalgic longing. Well, that's how I see it anyway. I will never forget that night at Earl's Court with 4 of my best mates (one no longer with us) and no cares in the world. Who knew what was to come 24 years later.

My feelings in my life was just depression, pain and hate. I was at manny places to get help. For nothing... To survive my shit life I startet very early with drugs and slipknot. Without it, I would probably died longtime ago by suicide. Thank you to drugs and my all-time fav. Band at this point. Now an other shit day... I cutted in my arms with a knife. I was crying and shouting and like magic I meet my gf. We come together in the psychatery. She was just visiting me there. After few years relationship, she showed me Pink Floyd. At the first second, I heard Pink Floyd, it touched something in me, I didn't know, that something like that is exciting in me. I went deeper and deeper to this magical sound. Today I'm listing to them one year and when I compared my whole life until now, I'm making big steps forward. Off course my relationship helped me very far but my mental health was still fucked up. My depression and pain goes very slowly away . I also quited with drugs. I'm just smoking Mary Jane today. I'm almost 30 and I've been now over my half life in a very very bad condition. All my scares on my body and in my soul. Thank you Pink Floyd! For everything! U saved my life and manny other lifes. One day I don't cry when I look in the mirror. THANK YOU! 😭 This is my fav. Floyd song! High hopes! I also have high hopes. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is one of the most underrated songs of all time period, let alone an absolute masterpiece that never gets talked about from one of the greatest bands ever. It's an epic story in itself and the solo at the end from Gilmore is one of his greatest pieces of work on the guitar which again, is rarely talked about when it comes to his line-up of epic solos. This song has absolutely everything and is my favorite Pink Floyd song ever.

That's good that this song is underrated and maybe even unknown for majority of people. Imagine that it would be played in every radio station and TV - because from one point of view it totally deserves it. This is the best song in the history of music. We love this song, we admire it and we come back here quite often. But imagine that you would listen to "High Hopes" very often in casual situations, even such a masterpiece could be "butchered" by radio stations and TVs as (unfortunately) some great and good songs were... So I'm glad that I am in a minority which loves Pink Floyd and I'm glad that band became successful also in financial aspects. All the best for all Pink Floyd fans! ;)

Many of todays "artists" couldn't come close to this after ten years in a studio with a ton of computer assistance and here's Pink Floyd, killing it live and making it seems like they're just in a relaxed jam session... And for the record: there's precisely ONE song that has a better solo and that's "Comfortably Numb".

I’ve been very very fortunate and I feel blessed to have seen Floyd live many many times in my life. The first record I ever bought as a 10yr old was ‘Another Brick’ unbeknown to me who this band were or how important they would become to me in my life. The musical journey they have taken me on is so strong that they gave me my taste in music. No band has ever given me so much pleasure from buying their albums as a teen for example I bought Animals and spent all day taking the needle off the record and placing it back a few rotations so I could learn the lyrics and hurriedly write them down , then once I done that I’d listen to the album in full with my handwritten lyrics and sing my head off. Then in the 80’s I saw them at Knebworth for the first time with my first girlfriend and being so hypnotised by David’s guitaring and those effortless solos that manage to delve deep into your soul and hit that spot that makes you want to cry. I’m now a middle aged guy who is still in love with this amazing , awesome masterpiece of a band which still gives me goosebumps and tears of joy when I put on a full album and let it do its magic. Roger , Rick , Nick & David are legends , they wrote music that has stood the test of time and the thing that truly makes me happy is that so many young kids are discovering them as I once did as a 10yr old boy. Long live the music..long live the Floyd

Difficult to believe this performance was almost 23 years ago. I had the privilege to be there in London that night and it was like a spiritual experience. I remember High Hopes and it was remarkable for the fact that nobody moved an inch. It was as if the audience was so entranced by what they were witnessing that they became stuck to their seats, almost paralysed. I attended many concerts over the years but never one like this. Nothing else came close. I will take the memory to my grave. It was THAT good.
