Pink Floyd - "A Saucerful of Secrets"
Музыка
"A Saucerful of Secrets" was titled "The Massed Gadgets of Hercules" in its earliest performance and became a Pink Floyd live staple from 1968--72. A live version of the track is available on their 1969 double album Ummagumma, and an alternative version is seen and heard in the film Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii,

I wonder what that “saucer full of secrets” is about is it the area of pompeii itself and the wonder of what lies below the unexcavated ground or maybe the tale of Mt Vesuvius as a “saucer,” it’s magma and hot ash a “secret,” from the beginning it builds up to a crescendo where it explodes, just like the song.

I love how they're here performing in an empty Roman Amphitheatre, in the middle of a ruined city, playing only for the ghosts of the Romans, while the wind blows the sand and their long hair, while David cries to the ghosts with all his passion, communicating with them. Reenacting their woeful cries as they were engulfed in fire. This is what this performance means to me. This is why they're really here.

Something about this song is you have to listen to the whole version. Not just 4 minutes of it. Its like reading only half a book. And if you read only half a book it doesn't make much sense. If you listen to the whole song it creates such a bigger and more satisfying feel to it. Its what makes Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd.
This song makes my soul yearn for pure freedom from the horrible tragedies that mankind perpetuates toward one another. When David starts to sing my eyes tear up in sadness as his soul is pouring out for all to feel. Our world desperately needs more empathy.

Pink Floyd: The rare band that transcends time, space & spirit. Whole body, yet out of body experience. I stunt their influence by saying band. Mesmerizing ❤
The raw talent and emotion of pink floyd performing live in front of a crowd of ghosts, in the ancient ruins of the amphitheater is second to none. This is pure emotion and a masterpiece.

I can listen to this on repeat for the rest of my life and never got tired.

God, I love this song. Piper's at the Gates of Dawn', Obscured by Clouds, Meddle, A Saucerful of Secrets, are all just perfect. Ummagumma is also great. Those albums never get old.
the climax in this song is such a masterpiece and is what i wanna hear in my last minutes on this earth... sounds like the end of everything, the end!!!!! out of words.
You ever hear something that stops you dead in your tracks? This was me with Pink Floyd when I first heard them 10 years ago. It was like I and finally found the band my soul had been searching for.

In the time of this video, musicians were focused on art. Sometimes on changing the world. Today they're focused on marketing, social media, clicks, money, advertising, and popularity. The results speak for themselves.

Back in the days when musicians didn't even care to put their name on their album covers. Now a days they try to sell you their latest single like a fucking telemarketer ... pathetic lol.
I not only keep coming back for the music, but the comments too!
Con esa canción me transporto al más allá sin morir, me hace viajar alucinantemente sin estar dopado. Gracias maestros de Pink Floyd por esta canción y todas la demás, no tengo palabras para agradecer todo lo féliz que me han hecho.

One of the greatest, unattended concerts ever. And I mean that sincerely. Probably one of the greatest recordings in misc history. And where they did it made it all the more important. This is deep music for deep people.
