Pimped Beta Xtrainer 300 Vs standard Xtrainer. Is this the Greatest dirt bike ever?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today on Hard UNduro we go head to head with Furz new custom modified Beta Xtrainer 300 against Al's standard Beta Cross Trainer 300. Furz Pimped Cross Trainer has a DFX suspension kit (forks and rear shock for 85-95 kgs or 187 -210lbs), a Motoes Torque Pipe and Motoes Cage Pipe guard, JD jetting kit and an oil injection delete. See what both of us think of this bike for our weights and riding styles compared to the standard Xtrainer!

Which do you prefer? The Xtrainer with a pipe and suspension upgrade or the Standard Xtrainer?

I bought a new Xtrainer last year. 2 years ago, I had a rental test vehicle at the dealer. That one had better suspension and really rode nicely. When I went a little faster with mine on the slightly undulating macadam, I felt like I was on a boat. I just preferred to ease off the throttle and go pretty slow. So that I decided to upgrade or I'm changing the suspension on mine. It's a lot better now, and I've probably gotten used to it a bit. I have now driven 18 hours. But I still have a lot of built-in protection. In addition, I also have a second exhaust pipe that comes from the engine. If you have an email or maybe Facebook, I can send you some pictures, and we can discuss the motorcycle a little more.

Both bike sound a bit spluttery and rich to me down low. The jetting I settled on after lots of testing was. (32 pilot 150 main and Suzuki needle NECJ on the 2nd from top clip). My bike rips now and is so smooth with no splutter anywhere. My fuel consumption has reduced dramatically well.

G’day. We used to have 450’s also and I don’t know how I ever wrangled those. The Xtrainer cops it’s fair share of flack but I’ve never heard anyone that’s ridden one say a bad word about them. And then you can do what Furz has and add a few things to it and you have a pretty unbeatable bike for a lot of people! A lot of the dealers have a demo if you get the chance to try one!

First gents, thank you for great content that is getting slicker with each new video. Nice job. Also thank you for representing Mr Average Joe which you rightly point out the XT is actually very good at delivering in bucketfuls for the weekend warrior after a few sensible mods. Love my '22 in the right colour scheme 🙂with similar mods. Namely FMF Gnarly producing good low down torque and a nice increase in power in conjunction with the NETC needle middle clip 38 pilot, 160 main at sea level in the UK riding this time of year 10-15C. Major mod that has really woken the bike up. Apart from adding the IMS 11lL tank, Seat Concepts comfort seat and 14 to 15 front tooth which for the on average 100 mile days I need trail riding in UK which includes 60+ road miles the other big improvement came from similar (relatively) low cost K-Tech ORVS front/rear piston kit and respring on the front. Good value for money which for me has removed a lot of front deflection and bounciness now it's sprung to my weight. Only thing you didn't mention is that the power gains from the pipe can be calmed down with the adjustable power valve so that it doesn't spoil (for me) that great progressive and controllable torque before the power really comes in. Also I haven't done the airbox mod which others say opens it up further, but I think just the pipe/jetting/power valve combination is plenty for the average weekend trail rider. Looking forward to more from you guys on the XT experience 👍👍

Thank you so much for the kind word it means a lot. We continue to have no idea what we're doing but it's fun and we hope our "averagness" gets everyone out on the bikes. I haven't yet played with the powervalve "yet" it's something I'm keen to do when I really know how the bike runs after some time getting used to it. Thanks for letting us know your setup, it's interesting to see what tweaks and settings work for everyone. Legend Cheers 💪💪👍👍

Really like the comparison, well done guys! You may want to try a different jetting. Instead of the JD try a NECW needle in clip 3, standard size pilot jet, 160 main jet (NECW is much! richer/thinner in the last part than either JD red or blue). Gives a super linear feeling. We had my Xtrainer on the Dino and the 300 RR pipe together with jetting gained solid 10 hp. You both have installed the front tugger strap wrong. It should be installed UNDER the lower triple clamp and the brake line/speedo cable should be inside the loop. Greetings from the other side of the planet (Austria) Steve

The lucky inserts are very noticeably better than stock. One of the big advantages of the luckys is you get a compression adjuster at the bottom of the fork tube, not just rebound like stock. Adjustment is noticeable and is great going form slow riding to fast. I don't see why you would do a fork swap with this option available, I would just get a RR model.@@HardUNduro
