Do you have a Smart Carb on you bike or have you ridden a bike with one? What did you think?

hey mate i do have a SC2 36mm and im absolutely spewing that i spent $1500. if you think someone might want to buy it off me let us know. I have the AQ11 & AQ09 metering rod to go with it. It doesn't have the oil injection sensor though. So if anyone wants to make me a reasonable offer please do so.

@@paulsavin7980 Hey Paul how you going? Yeah I still have the smart carb and I bought it for my 2023 Beta 300 RR.

Had one on my 22 XT, was a good bit of kit, love the fact you can treat it like a TPI and not worry about fuel draining out every time it was upside down in a creek

It’s really given this bike some more smooth power!

I have an SC2 36mm on my old 05 ktm 300 and after a little fiddling, slight float adjustment, slight lean adjustment and idle adjustment, the bike is an absolute weapon, runs beautifully with the smartcarb. Lugs down low and sings up high

Smart carbs are good but I could not justify the money so I rejected mine first. The jetting I settled on was a 32 pilot a 155 man jet and I also fitted a Suzuki needle NECJ on clip 2. It's fuel consumption is now better than my 2018 KTM 300tpi and it rips! with no splutter anywhere. I can hear some splutter on steady throttle on that bike which mine has not got any more.(maybe a bit rich?) Mine ran badly and way to rich from STD. I recommend to try these setting before spending $1500 to $1700 on a smart Carby, You may be pleasantly surprised.

Hey Russell. Thanks for sharing your carb specs! We had a JD jetting kit on that bike which was working well and could have stuck with that no worries but we wanted to try a Smart Carb for one of the Xtrainers. This was just the run in ride and it ran pretty well with the factory settings but has had some fine adjustment since then.

1500 to 1700 ?? Mine cost me around the 800 mark right from smart carb. I went for yrs jetting and rejetting on my 02 ktm 250sx . Spring temp , summer temp , then fall temp and last of all winter temp . Now I don't do anything premix gas and ride may turn the clicker a few clicks richer or leaner . And best of all it can be transferred to other carb bikes

Got to love parts you can keep when change bikes!

When I bought my 18 250rr re . The first thing I purchased was the smart carb sc2 36mm . I still have the stock Kien carb . It does bring out the bottom end and I do say gas mileage is better than the stock carb . Can do a 2hr harescramble and not have to hit the Reserve .

Hi guys I'm Roberto and I'm writing to you from italy. i own a 2024 xtainer300 i wanted to ask you if it's advisable to eliminate the thermostatic valve by replacing the original tubes whit a special siliicone set and possibly the cooling fan (in about ten outings you won't is never activated) not doin hard but only forest road.

Hi Roberto. I have done that on all my last few bikes but not yet on the Xtrainer. I've heard that the Xtrainer Samco hoses and thermo delete weren't quite fitting correctly but they may have updated them now. I believe if your climate is extremely cold it's best to keep the thermo installed. If you climate is medium/hot etc I like to delete them. I like to have a fan but we ride more extreme slow. The strainer fan barely comes on anyway, seems it's a fairly cool engine. No harm deleting it if you really want it out of the way . Hope this helps, thanks for watching. 🙏🙏🙏💪

@@HardUNduro Thanks for the prompt reply, I think it eliminates the valve and probably also the fan, in my XT mounted the FRESCO exaust by modifying the jet carburetion mi.38-max.162 needle N2ZV obtaining exellent power especially at low revs. I also changed the air filter cage with that of the rr. I also mounted ergal foottrests and a lot of ergal and titanium bolt to make the bike more beautiful
