    I like the Ned's sly dig at the end " well you let it float ''. True endorser, but enjoyed the video all the same, good pilots, good promo. It's cheesy endorsement, but no denying its a great plane so any footage is good footage.

    1. So what's the difference between the King Air and the Turbo Commander and the Mitsubishi MU2 if you only need the seating capacity as the MU2? 2. How does it pick up WIFI, from the ground or satellite? 3. Can cell phones work from an airplane? This video shows a satellite phone. 4. Were any of the King Airs built specifically for Skydivers, ie the T-tail?

    +John Burdin I see what you mean, I own one myself as well. However it's possible to change te side of the mic. the shape of the earseals is designed in such a way that the headset can only be worn in one position comfortably. On the video you can see that the bottom is the earseal is pointing rearwards while it should be pointing forwards for optimal comfort.

    Is it possible to modernize engine power quadrant on king air airplanes (C90's. 250's and 350's)? -Much more like the TBM900 which has only one power lever per engine instead of three as on the king airs.

  • @JDSeg693

    @JDSeg693

    8 жыл бұрын

    I reject your premise. The one lever is not modern. It is to make the aircraft more appealing to novice pilots. If you need a single lever per engine then you should stick to single engine aircraft. Or jets

  • @corsario305

    @corsario305

    8 жыл бұрын

    +James Segrest Compared to the king airs, the TBM900 IS much more modern; TBM900's quadrant was designed in the 2014-2015's compared to the king air's 1960's quadrant....So, do you understand what modern means? it refers to space in time! -Right now I have to stick to single engine airplanes regardless of what you say; I am still not certified to fly multi-engine airplanes.-And for your information, most single engine, piston, airplanes have two levers too (power lever and fuel mixture).-Pilot work load reduction is what all aircraft manufacturers look for in order to modernize their fleet.

    You ask 10 controllers if they want you to initially say "xxx Kilo Alpha is WITH YOU .....". 9 will say it's unnecessary. "Chicago approach, 321 Mike Charley is 4000 at Vains inbound". You just got handed to them. They know you're going to be reporting in. Leave off the "with you".

    ckelley63 Not at all. I've actually asked controllers while in the air (if they're not busy) and friends from towers and TRACONS while on the ground. They all say "eliminate the 'with you'". The goal of traffic control is to communicate. Communication takes place when someone tells you something, and you understand them. I live and fly IFR around Chicago a lot. ATC communication time is always at a premium. Make it short and sweet. Eliminate unnecessary talk. They ALL DO appreciate it.

    The 350 is a great ship. I only wish they had flown a mission profile similar to what the aircraft was designed and is used for - 300 to 600 mile trips. A local corp has used one for many years, and often uses it on missions as short as as short as 150 to 180 miles. They climb it into the 20's.. On missions of 400 to 600 miles it arrives only about 20 to 25 min behind their 60xr's depending on ATC.... The flight in this review is nothing more than a short re-positioning flight.... Not a realistic flight profile for anything other than a maintenance flight..... That is exactly why I feel it was a waste of time, and really showed nothing of the aircraft's true capabilities that it is built for....

    How would they show what it was built for? It's an awesome plane. I like how they said it could fly for five hours+ but at that much flight time a jet would be faster.

  • @WizzRacing

    @WizzRacing

    8 жыл бұрын

    +John Burdin i find the reference misleading when someone says you can get there 1 hr faster in a jet. As the plane can use short runways and get that 1 hr back in not having to land 1 hr away or more from your final destination. So you have more options where you can land. Add the fact those PT6A are great engines. The airframe is proven and the new avionics give it some features we only dreamed of having. Some are still in service with the Navy after 30 years. It has proven itself.

    John Burdin King Air can use shorter runways. So it has more options on which airports it can operate out of over jet powered. This is the reason they still exist. So the Jet can get somewhere 1 hr faster. Big deal if I can land at a closer airport the client is going too. I can get that 1 hr back so its a wash. As not all airports have 5000' runways or suitable for Jet aircraft.

  • @AB-qn9cs

    @AB-qn9cs

    Because the PM wasn't always ending his calls with his callsign to the controllers which is the first thing you are taught. Might seem minor but if another pilot on frequency with a similar callsign mistakes your call for theirs, It may cause an accident. The worst one I heard for sure was the landing clearance readback "alrighttttt uhhhhhh calm wind uhhhhh clear to land". You shouldn't read back the wind on a landing clearance and ALWAYS confirm the runway you are being given clearance for. He even forgot a heading instruction when being issued clearance for the ILS 23 approach. Terrible.

  • @cwhitty05

    Yep, couldn't agree more. I was cringing each time there was a radio call. It's "Runway heading, rwy __, cleared for takeoff, call sign". Not "runway heading, cleared for takeoff". Piss poor radio work. I've trained student pilots who talk better on the radio with less than 10 hours than this guy who is supposed to be a professional.
