Keep the monuments as well as statues. The entire movement behind this "take down the monuments" is another effort to torch the history and traditions of a country. I find it interesting that these debates pop up all over North America and Europe, but do not include Africa, Asia and South America where slavery was an institution for thousands of years and in some cases still rages today!

This is a disingenuous argument. Neither of these women were even arguing for statues to be removed. Both said they want them to be viewed in a different context (i.e. take the good with the bad). I don’t know how they plan on doing that (maybe guided voice over tours or new plaques) and I’m afraid I’ll never know because Piers keeps interrupting. For someone who talks about others getting triggered, he sure does get his ego bruised easily. Also, this is a non-issue. We have bigger problems in this world than this culture war bs. People are going hungry and unhoused!
