Well it probably would have been put in the commandments (I know that was the old testament but they were repeated in the new). If it was meant to be that way, would Jesus not have reiterated that point several times at least?? Or would the disciples not have reiterated the point many times too? Makes no sense that he was!

There is this little thing called free range. Also, Humans do need to eat meat, like the majority of mammals, we need to eat meat as we evolved to eat meat. Vegan foods do not have any sauces of vitamin B-12, which is one of the most important vitamins humans need. B-12 can only be found in meat and dairy products. Yes you can take supplements, however they still don't provide sufficient levels of it to keep a person healthy. Supplements can also be harmful. @@Snugs79

This generation, in its search for relevance, acts as though they are the first people to ever come across these issues, giving no credit to prior generations who have exhaustively dealt with these issues previously. When this generation's parents told them all their lives how brilliant they are, apparently they took them seriously.

Here is my review of Christspiracy. I am a Christian and grew up in church. A powerful, emotional, and sobering look at how the major world religions view animal ethics. WWJD? Well, you might be surprised! Could he have been even more compassionate than we thought? As a Christian I found this film wasn’t bashing Christianity or religion but it does shine a light on the total disregard many Christians have for animals directly or indirectly in the name of religion and how some twist scripture to fit traditions and desires. A key part of the film is how it recontextualizes the temple sacrifice scene in the Bible with Jesus by contrasting it with things that are happening today. They don’t twist scripture to make their points. They do uncover a mistranslation in the Bible that is shocking and sure to spark A LOT of debate. Was his sacrifice solely because he was upset at money changers? I’m hoping hearts and minds are affected, resulting in a wave of compassion and consideration for ALL creation.

Why do you do that? Piers : I like meat, what can I tell you? I: “Taste pleasure” is not a valid moral argument to kill someone. There is no valid moral justification for exploiting and killing innocent animals for food when we know we can be healthy with well planned vegan diets.

Piers' take on "Christspiracy" raises some interesting points about veganism. While social pressures and controversy can certainly influence opinions, it's worth considering the core reasons why people go vegan. There's a growing body of evidence showing that a vegan diet can significantly reduce animal suffering, lessen the environmental impact of food production, and even offer health benefits. Now, of course, no approach is perfect. Vegans themselves will acknowledge that discussions often pop up around specific foods, like avocados or almonds. Here, it's about making informed choices. Sourcing organic, responsibly grown avocados as an occasional treat can help minimize their environmental footprint, especially in Europe where regulations might be stricter. Similarly, opting for Spanish almonds over Californian ones, or choosing them as a treat instead of a daily staple, can address concerns about bee populations. Speaking of bees, it's fascinating to note the role they play in our food system. Many crops used for animal feed, like alfalfa, rely heavily on bee pollination. This highlights an interesting irony: some critiques of vegans consuming almonds often come from those who enjoy dairy products. The reality is, those cows are often fed crops pollinated by commercially farmed bees facing similar challenges. Their needs, and the potential for a mass decline in bee populations, should be a concern for everyone. Factory farming practices can contribute to these challenges. Forcing bees onto monoculture crops deprives them of diverse pollen sources and stresses them with constant movement. Additionally, neonicotinoid pesticides, which are systemic and can harm bees, pose a significant threat. The water usage argument against veganism is another interesting one. While some crops like almonds require water, studies suggest that the water footprint of animal agriculture is significantly higher. Consider the research by Non-profit Food & Water Watch, which estimates that a staggering 142 million gallons of water are needed daily to maintain just the 1.7 million cows living on mega-dairy farms in California alone. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. As Bloomberg columnist Justin Fox aptly points out, "cows suck up more water than almonds!" The amount the animals drink is far exceeded by the billions of gallons needed annually to irrigate pastureland and water-intensive feed crops like alfalfa.

Jesus would definitely be against cruelty to animals but He DID understand that some die so others can live. He was the ULTIMATE example of this. Regular sacrifice of animals was part of life at that time and He tacitly condoned it by not only accepting it happened but being the culminating sacrifice I don't think any of the other examples were vegans either bc it's nearly impossible to be vegan without modern day supplements. The Bible is sketchy on a LOT of things but that doesn't mean it never happened Last time i checked it never discussed anyones bowel habits but I'm pretty sure people still used the bathroom regularly

The other crazy thing about the billions of bees he accused vegans of murdering, I wonder how many bees per avocado or per calorie are killed compared to the calories from a slaughtered and likely abused animal? The other factor is what Kip alluded to, if the ratio is bad we can explore Veganic options like making non-exploitive beekeeping part of growing the plants insitu, alternatives to pesticides, and appropriate quarantine of varrower mites that kill bees in transport from honey farms as Joey Carbstrong suggests is the largest contributor of their deaths.

10 chapters back is Matthew 5:11. Q1 - What's wrong w/ my unpopular view? Israel 🇮🇱 is a hero and is freeing Palestine 🇵🇸 from Hamas by doing the exact opposite of the g word everyone accused Israel of - Israel is actually the saviour of the Palestinians. Q2 - Where can I find someone else who's actually said this before? Many pro-Israel agree with me, but they haven't seen anyone before me. Matthew 5:11 People argue if Israel is or isn't committing genocide, but I've never seen anyone argue that Israel is doing the exact OPPOSITE of genocide. So, well, I could be wrong. Israel won the 3rd arab war in 6 days, yet Hamas hasn't been beaten after months. I read if Israel didn't care about civilian casualties, even if they didn't nuke, then this war would've been over in weeks with hundreds of thousands in casualties. In the 1st Arab war, the Arabs were supposed to be the saviour of the (Arab) Palestinians from the evil UN partition plan. Now Israel is saving the Palestinians from the evil UN that votes for a ceasefire. Looks like Israel has done a better job of saving Palestinians in the last few months than the Arabs did in the last 75 years. Israel saves the Palestinians - politically from a dictatorial regime that steals from them and - morally by dropping leaflets & providing aid & corridors which the ww2 allies never did in Dresden. Despite all the baseless accusations, the deaths incurred that they see on a daily basis and the ceasefire calls, Israel still perseveres in the prosecution of this war to defend not just Jews but Arabs and still provides aid instead of being spiteful like 'Oh you think we're evil after all the aid we've provided? Ok let's see how you like it when we turn off the aid.' Note: - Israel is condemned despite giving aid to the FOREIGN Palestinians. - No one cares when Hamas steals aid from its OWN people! I wonder if this magnanimity goes beyond Judaism. I don't recall anything as explicit as this in the old testament. Like Jesus takes a step further to say 'love your enemies.' Israel has no obligation to save the Palestinians who voted Hamas into power. Yet Israel does! I think this view might be unpopular because unfortunately Israel doesn't have that many vocal defenders who are non-Israeli & gentile, so Israel is just humbly saying as a matter of fact that they're not committing war crimes. They can't say further because if an Israeli or a Jew says so then it sounds arrogant (maybe like Numbers 12:3 if Numbers was written by Moses) - Israel is actually a SAVIOUR/HERO of the Palestinians - the exact OPPOSITE of a war criminal. Israel saves despite being reviled. This is exactly what Jesus did! Jews are more Christian than Christians! I mean look what Pope Francis has said and even HASN'T said about this situation. Disappointing. Tsk tsk. You'd think Pope Francis, who's read the new testament a million times while the Jews haven't, would bring this up but nada. Or if anyone's already seen a view like this then please tell me where I can read about it. Happy Easter, Ramadan and Passover!

As a journalist myself I find it disturbing that Piers would conduct an interview about a film when he hasnt even seen the film beforehand. Whether you agree or not - watch the film before getting into a debate about it. Journalism 101

It is getting hilarious how the only weapons Piers have against vegans are his avocados&bees argument and talking over them. Anyway this is my review on Christspiracy, after seeing it (twice): Comedy, drama, information and revealing hidden truths - a perfect package! I had high expectations as well as some suspicion for this film, as I am not a religious person (used to be). I was not sure if this documentary would be interesting to me... After the first watch I was blown away, with so much new information and new thoughts in my mind. I immediately felt like I need to see the film again. I feel like there is something, or actually several things, for everyone in this movie, and it needs to be seen by everyone!

Just watch the film and make your own mind up about whether YOU can morally justify not being vegan.

It's easy. Livestock are food. You use animal products from the same animals. Maybe tell us how you morally justify it.

In animistic religions nature and animals were revered and seen as our brothers and sisters. A spirituality that includes all life is missing in the Bible. For example it would be natural that animals and nature would be mentioned in the commandments. All animals have spirit and nature is sacred. As late as the 19th century timber men in Bavaria said a prayer when cutting down a tree. This goes back to the time when the germanic tribes lived in great forests and spirit was everywhere and nature was sacred. These guys here have a point absolutely.

1 Corinthians 8:13 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall. Romans 14:21 21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall. Psalm 14:1-4 The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God…They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt…Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who EAT UP My poeple like they they eat bread… Isaiah 66:3 3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; Ecclesiastes 4:5 The fool folds his hands and eats his own flesh… “ Ecclesiastes 3:18 I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.
