Pierre has been a Senna fan based on his previous interviews and he even helped with the charity events for Ayrton Senna's foundation or charity institution. Pierre is such a kind-hearted person and he deserves this opportunity. So happy for you, Pierre! ❤😊

As a Toleman fan who followed the team in the early 80's this was great to watch. 40 years ago and in the year we also lost Ted Toleman, thanks for doing this.
I have to appreciate Gasly kind words on Senna after watching Senna drive live so many lazy Sundays growing up.
What an era it must be to witness all of these live on track

I became a fan in 1983, as a 7 yr old. I look back on these days as truly special. I’ve not seen a current generation car live, but hace seen ecery gen from 90s up to hybrid. Fire breathing turbos were epic. Love that brundle turned up to talk to these great young pups!

Fantastic to see and hear. One overlooked link is that Pierre's current team, Alpine is the direct descendant of the Toleman team. Often called the "Enstone Team". If memory gets this sequence right; Toleman, Benetton, Renault, Lotus, Renault, Alpine.

Yeah I've been watching a lot of the Goodwood historic era car Monaco races recently, man, even though they are slower they are just so exciting to watch. Pure ICE and h shift transmissions, and those drivers are on the edge! Just run the machinery on synth or bio fuels if folks are worried about the CO2.
Martin should have a run too!!

For information, Toleman was the foundations of what Alpine is today (basically the whole Enstone factory). This is an incredible opportunity for Pierre, I would probably cry if I was him :')

I honestly thought that’s why Pierre was chosen, i.e. because Alpine was descended from Toleman.
Quite an emotional moment for me I can’t even imagine how you two felt
The modern helmet Gasly commemorating Senna looks great and like the classic inline colour he had in the foam padding. That car is visceral and raw and like the sound.
Give them a run in Senna's Lotus 97T
Hey Racers... I am an 88 year of make... so not quite your generation... And sometimes I really had my struggles to understand your generation. BUT what you both did for the honor of Ayrton Senna... thats incredible... its so nice to see that even your generation has not forgotten Senna! And to be honest: you both managed the stickshift really well! For me there is one simple thing for sure: if somebody fire up one of Ayrtons cars then the magic happens... Ayrton is alive in every single piston with every single ignition. Pierre and Naomi you are the top of your generation... and both great humans. some of the kind that dont laugh at older generations, some of the kind which look back and smile because of honor, respect and missing good people. go ahead and all the best... I hope there is always those little bit of space and time between you and a crash...stay well and stay fast...
SENNA LEGEND FOREVER ❤😊
I'm a Senna fan since 1988 i was a little boy started watching f1 about 11 years old without somebody ever telling me f1 existed. Now i also would like to drive 1 of Senna's car, i think i deserved that too.
What an experience that had to be for those two, almost dreamlike. Especially with the kind of grey overcast weather, that seemed to add an almost surreal atmosphere to the scene. Like they might have woken up the next day and thought... "wait... wow, that really happened!". Also good for making a guy feel old (I'm close to the same age as Brundle), remembering watching Senna race the car on TV, now seeing it driven by people who were not even born until years later.
It makes you realise how soulless the current cars are. Whenver modern drivers get the opportunity to drive a historic car, they're always blown away by the experience.

This was good. Real good. Pierre is a cool driver, but Naomi in that car was "oooh goosebumps." Not only does she look good in racing overalls, but she can drive and seeing how she loved this treasure, it shows that she knows her stuff. Sky, do more of these. With Naomi too.
Great tribute to the legendary Brazilian driver
Ayrton Senna 🙏👌👌

I‘ve seen Senna in this at the Hockenheim GP but was a fan of Piquet in the Brabham BMW. That was a great time with great looking F1 cars, not as big and fat as today.
Fantastic experience!
I’ve got black and white photos from his first test with Toleman and Brands. Martin was in the Tyrell and Nigel in the Lotus…
Senna is the one 👑
Great video. Thanks.
Great piece of F1 on SKY !
Thank you for this.
The older that era of F1 cars gets, the more beautiful the look and sound.
The goat, senna!
People today don’t really understand the impact that people like Senna and sport had back in those days. I tried to explain to people the impact that Australia had when they won the America’s Cup in 1983. Don’t get it. I think events like that and drivers like Senna , bands like the Beatles will never be repeated again which is very sad.
This is a W right here

Amazing Helmet
Amazing thing to see. And it puts current F1 in the spotlight in a bad way. These cars, the sounds and driving experiences is what it should be. Not these big heavy weird things they have to hustle around now.
It's supposed to look like an old car, but It look like what an actual F1 is supposed to be.
What a wholesome trio, more of them please. Maybe more onboard footage too? ;) But great homage to the master, thank you!

Not my favorite era of cars, but much better than today’s overweight boats. The early ‘90s and early/mid 2000s easily had the coolest cars of all time. Bring back smaller, lighter cars. Bring back N/A engines on synthetic fuels. Bring back the REAL Formula One.
