PIEMONTE is exceptional. Most tourists overlook it. It is where my roots are. Wines, cuisine,UNESCO recognized make it superb. A very healthy place to live with great architecture too. If you value quality, then this is for you.❤ Thank you. Be sure to learn Italian!😁

Outstanding video, my friend. I have been looking at Italian real estate for a number of years now. I was born in Italy and lived in Aosta till the age of 15 when my parents decided to move to Australia. Unfortunately I lost my Italian citizenship. I'm in my mid 50s now and am truly considering to buy real estate and return home. I visited Piemonte in 2015 for the first time and liked the area but didn't get a chance to visit all provinces. Your video clarifies it for me. Can't wait to come back home.

Thank you Pietro! I am planning on doing a lot more but the market has been so busy here. I am making plans - even bought a red, Italian sports car for the job! Any excuse - my wife says... ;-) Italians say we all come home eventually. I'm three generations back Italian but only this place feels like home. Hope to see you in the future! We'll drink some vino together 🙂

@@langheproperty Well I don't know how representative my experience was, but I found it far easier than buying in the UK. I sold my property in the UK to move here so this wasn't a second home, which obviously meant lower taxes. And it seems here that it really is about getting in with the right agent and having the right assistance. I noticed you mention this in one of your videos and it was our experience too. Had we not been lucky in that respect I imagine it would have been a lot harder. I was warned about the process here - the spectre of 'Italian bureaucracy' looms large! I have had my moments with it... but UK bureaucracy around property is also a nightmare. I didn't find the process here any worse. One of the things I really admire about the process is that when your offer is accepted its basically a done deal even if it takes months to go through. In the UK the constant fear of losing the house is so deeply affecting and so unnecessary! But you don't have that here. All in all, it was 3 months from first viewing to getting the keys, which I was managing remotely from Barcelona... but as I mentioned - we may have been lucky!

@@simonfoxalllondon Hi Simon, thanks! It's a good perspective. Yes, it's true, once the deal is done it's done. We've never had seller's pull out of a sale. As long as the house is correct with the land registry things are usually very smooth and quick. Thanks again and I hope you continue to enjoy your house here for a very long time!

Ciao!

Hi Norm, thanks for your positive comments! I would suggest not buying in Turin. It's a great place to visit but not so good to live in, unless you really love the things bigger cities offer and can put up with the noise, pollution, etc. I would suggest somewhere like the city of Cuneo or Mondovì. Much nicer to live in and much closer to the ski resorts. Mondovì is one of my favourite towns in the area and is beautiful. There you'll only minutes from skiing. Ahh Brexit... we already had residency, of course, being here so long, but it won't make things easier. The Italian government has a good understanding with Italy so it shouldn't change too much. Hope this helps!

Hello ! We live in southern california where there are all kinds of olive trees , vinyards( used to be rather ) and such , so we are used to seeing it. Seems like the peidmont area would be a perfect fit for us , as we own our own home and the sale price of it would most defiantly buy a nice place . We have money from pension plans and such coming in , so the money from the house wouldn't be all we would have . But ... there are things to consider such v h as closeness to medical care , ( we are in our late 60's ) , property rights , water rights , ect . Of course , we really wouldn't want to spend all the money from sale of our home here on a p.ace there . We'd like to keep some of that in reserve .

After living in Spain several years ago, I decided I’d like to save to buy a house there but in my research, I found out that you get a bit more property for your money in Italy. Also, the food is better. Because of my love for both mountains and the sea, I originally started looking at Liguria but I found there are few houses there within my budget. Soon, I realized houses were cheaper the further north you go so I have been considering Piedmont. However, it’s still so difficult to decide which area I like the most. Naturally, warm weather is better for me as I like a bit of gardening and olive trees. Perhaps I should buy a summer home in the mountains and another in Sicily. There are simply just too many beautiful places in Italy. Any advice as to the most characteristically scenic, southerly, small city in Piedmont similar to Pieve di Teco, preferably near a train line? Thank you so much for your advice and informative videos!

  • @langheproperty

Ah we love the walks - sorry you didn't find anything. I walk my dog every day in the hills. Landowners very rarely fence off their properties and don't mind people walking through. There are many walk trails in the Langhe, here in the Roero it's amazing, and the Monferrato is incredible. We walk regularly with our son that lives there, north of Asti. Lots of tourists. On Easter Monday we couldn't get into a restaurant anywhere in Langhe. We eventually got into La Coccinella in Serravalle Langhe, they set up a table for us in their bar as they were fully booked for lunch. The winding road I guess is normal in hilly areas, but it depends on what part you're in too. Sorry, you didn't enjoy it!
