If the weather continues to shift, perhaps creating an earth ship type house could be a future project; you live in such a beautiful place.

I can't say the gardening seasoning has been too kind. We have been dealing with torrential downpours, hail, and too cool for watermelons and cantaloupes. However, I usually have both cantaloupes and watermelons every season. We will just take what we can. The potatoes look like they're going to be great this year.

That is so exciting that Clay is now home with you. How challenging that must have been to be apart most of the time. It must be just really nice to pick peas and eat strawberries together! I can hardly believe!) how hot it has become there, but of course where I am it is the same with the climate changing drastically. Now we have thunderstorm and tornado warnings every week, and I've never had to worry about tornadoes before. We are certainly poor caretakers of the planet (and of course I don't mean you folks, but "we" as economically-driven societies). I know what you mean about weeds - I injured my back from overdoing gardening and wood splitting, and haven't been able to do much weeding, so I too am pulling peas off vines that are interspersed with weeds. Oh well, there's always next year! Enjoy each other. I hope you do take some time off and go fishing and have some relaxing time together. Fingers crossed for Burley!

I know how you feel Ariel, I have day's when I have to remind myself I don't hate my life to. Congratulations to Cliff on retiring. What type of fishing does he do? I recently helped a friend clear out her hoarding Uncles house and he had tubs and tubs of fishing lures. Looks like they're from the late 50's, 60's and 70's for fresh and salt water fishing. If he could use a few I would love to send them as a retirement gift and thank you for all his hard work on the homestead. Have a great evening.
