Photographing The Queens Funeral. Behind the scenes. Shooting with Canon R5 and 5dIV
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
As a professional photographer I think it is important to witness and document historic event as and how they happen around us. There are few bigger than the funeral of the Queen of England. Join me in this video as I travel to London, find a good vantage point to photograph the procession and then watch as the event unfolds. I tried my best to film some behind the scenes footage of the Royal funeral and at the end I share some of the photographs I captured. Pictures include King Charles, Prince Edward, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Harry, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Princess Kate, Princess Eugene, Princess Beatrice
Camera equipment used was a Canon R5 with 70-300 F4-5.6 L lens and a Canon 5dIV with 16-35mm F4 Lens. Footage was recorded on a GoPro Hero 10 Black

A little video into the "normal" persons view point of a moment in history, normal as in a member of the public going to observe the event. Thank You.

The thing I forgot to mention was how the whole thing felt very much like a dream.. I wonder if maybe that was the same for many people that day
Nice shots indeed and of course the video also. I personally would have struggled to keep the camera steady mounting on a monopod and lifting it above my head. I like your content.

Cheers N J C! It’s not without problems! That’s for sure
Just wanted to add that it was good that you included some contrasting scenes from the main event, the "Union Jack rubbish", the crowd of people watching their smartphones, the man sleeping in the shop doorway, etc. I found it thought provoking.

Standing on a block for 4 hours !!!! Makes me feel very guilty for the comfort I had being on the queen Victoria memorial

No need for guilt Mr T. I actually built a very good adult relationship with the 4 hour block. We discussed stuff, talked things through, did what we needed to do and then passed like ships in the night. The perfect 4 hour stand. Hope you had a worthwhile mission and life is treating you well. RR
Lugging that monopod really paid off. Great art from that moment. How high were you above the crowd for those tele photos? Or were you shooting through/between shoulders? Excellent perspective, thanks for posting. Nice little moments in-between as well.

Thanks James. Yes the long lens pics were from ground level through shoulders. Never easy
Roy, did you use a phone app to trigger the camera? Please tell us how you achieved that. Thank you
Great shots. It’s so tough getting a good spot with such large crowds. I going and decided against it, I’m still not sure if that was the right decision. It was good seeing your behind the scenes.

Thanks Nigel. To be honest unless you have a rota or fixed point position then it’s a gamble at best.
What were you using for a monopod?
