    I love your tutorials! One thing I have noticed about my print outs is the numbers do not come to the top of page but to the side. I can’t figure out why they are printing as such! Thank you for such excellent, visual tutorials! Enjoy your day from…deep in the heart of Houston Texas!!

    @@carolehatter5394 Thank you for your kind words and for watching my tutorials, it means a lot. Where the numbers are on the pattern depends on what program they are made in and how the pattern maker made the patterns. I actually prefer them on the side myself, it makes it easier since I cut the top and bottom off before I attach the strips. Best regards from Sweden.

    Thank you for your tutorials! I noticed that you started placing the first strip of the design on the last page in the book. Is there a reason why you didn't start at the beginning of the book?

    Thank you for watching ☺️ I crafted the book upside down because the bottom was nicer than the top. Since I cover the book I wanted the top pages that shows to be clean and nice (in this case that was the bottom).

    Do you ever need to add adhesive to the even number side of the page? Also, did you make your book holding device?

  • @BrightSideStudioBookArt

    That’s the middle dot of adhesive I add on the strip ☺️ I add top and bottom on the uneven page in the book and then middle on the strip that goes on the even page in the book. My husband made me the book folding frame some years ago.

    Folding: How rightly do you squeeze the strips together and how much pressure do you put on each one after that?

  • @BrightSideStudioBookArt

    @BrightSideStudioBookArt

    3 ай бұрын

    I only squeeze them together so they kinda stay folded a little and don’t open up and then not much pressure at all, I’m very light on my fingers and only do it very gently. If I use heavier paper I might push down a little bit more. It kinda depends on how heavy paper I use, how heavy the pages in the book are, how squeezed the strips need to be for that certain pattern. Most of the times I only go by feeling. If you squeeze to gently you can always press the finished book a little but if you squeeze too much, you can’t undo it… so that’s why I always do it gently.

    @@BrightSideStudioBookArt I'm trying so hard and doing pretty well but not consistent. Guess it takes practice. I don't think I'm squeezing them enough. Thanks so much.

    You have selected your book and have attached the entire pattern and have blank pages at the end of your book do you remove those pages?

  • @BrightSideStudioBookArt

    @BrightSideStudioBookArt

    I always try to center my pattern before I begin so I have equal many blank pages at the beginning and at the end. If I find the need to remove any pages, I take them out randomly in the book.

    I make my own patterns and I also test patterns for pattern makers. These are called Photo Strip Patterns or Fore Edge patterns, might be more names for them. There’s lots of Facebook groups and lots sell patterns on Etsy.

    Thinking of buying a paper cutter like you are using but it's $483.00 here in Canada. Would it be worth the investment?

    I love my paper cutter and it saves me so much time but it wasn’t that expensive at all. Have you looked on Amazon? I think it was there I got my Dahle some years ago. The other little one I use I inherited from a friend many many years ago.

    Abetter question would have been "Can you explain what it is you are making", the way you have phrased it is showing your ignorance towards other people and their crafts and really not wanting to know what it really is.
