Fabulous instructions. I definitely will start using my triangle ruler going forward. I was struggling with just a straight edge. Thank you for the awesome technique.

Hi. How do you make so clean patterns with strip not totally covered by link ?

I myself use a software program with ink save method when I make my patterns so I can choose how much image is being shown on the strips. I’ve tried only 2 mm of image being seen but the strips are so tricky to fold then, but you do save a lot of ink.

Will you tell me what quality of paper you use, and what is the best number of pages?

I use 80gsm paper and 100gsm paper, use both matte and glossy paper depending on what look I’m going for. There’s no best number of pages, it all depends on the size of the image to get the right proportions of the image in the finished book. If I need to bulk the book for a specific pattern I use the 100gsm paper, then it also depends on the thickness of the pages in the book, so many variables… it’s all trial and error really.

May I ask, who is the manufacturer of the set square ruler, and/or where can it be obtained? Thanks

The brand is Staedtler and the set square was a part of a Geometry Set. I bought it in a craft shop over here in Sweden many years ago, I think maybe Amazon got some.

I use Numbers and Photoshop when I make my own patterns + I use a software that my brother in law developed for me. I know others use Excel for making patterns.

I do mine 180 and don't use glue

I only make mine using that method if I need to bulk the book up, most patterns are made for on the edge and would be to too wide and out of proportion folding 180° + it bulks it up even more when doing the fold without the glue.
