Thanks for showing this area. My Mom moved from German town and lived in Washington Crossing in the 40's on a farm that is now a subdivision. House is still there.

Nice to see. My family use to have reunions there in the park. It was a big deal to hike up the hill to get to the tower.

I watch all your movies to the end. But I watch them on my Roku tv where I can't comment. Lol. You may like it better that way. Lol. I love your outlook and your insight. I was there for years ago with my son and his gf from Seattle. You made me realize we hardly saw anything there. Now I'm gonna go back with hubby and spend more time looking around. Ty.

There's a Beer Store immediately on the other side in Jersey because of PA Blue Laws - no booze sales on Sundays

Hey, one n only PHILLY CAPTAIN...Very excellent job, great unedited video and more during your recent visit up north at historical Washington"s Crossing btwn Pa and NJ...Not too mention successfully crossing over both ways of another free no toll bridge...Very exciting, adventurous and interesting...

I live a couple miles away and that bridge is the biggest pain in the ass to cross. Have no idea why both lanes are open at the same time. Sooner or later everyone loses a rear view mirror.

Darn good video. No surprise as we have all come to expect that and you never fail us. Re Pennsyltucky ~ I remember as a kid reading something about how the Appalachian trail started somewhere in Pennsylvania. Folks moved from there to greener pastures in Kentucky and other parts due South. This after the Colonial period. IIRC Daniel Boone's family was one of the first groups to start that trek. Read Boone's bio when I was a little kid in Brooklyn in the mid 1960s so I don't quite remember all the facts about that. I grew up to become an American history buff. I've read so many books about it that I could easily qualify for a B.A. on the subject and even get a few post graduate credits. It never stops being a fun subject for me. Keep up the good work!

hey cap'n, thanks for another enjoyable vid, this time at Washington Crossing (not "Washington's" Crossing). Very exciting indeed. I cross that bridge nearly every day on my way to/from work. The canal on the NJ side is the Delaware & Raritan Canal connecting to the Raritan River in New Brunswick, NJ and the one on the Pennsyltucky side is the Delaware Canal, which connects to the Lehigh & Delaware Canal up north and ends in Bristol, PA to the south. Both canals pre-date railroads and were used mainly to transport coal from northeastern PA to Philly and NYC. You were also close to Bowman's Tower which was erected as a memorial to the crossing. It offers good views of the river valley and surrounding hills. On weekends the tower is staffed by those people who dress up & speak in the silly 1700's style. ... toodles!

What bridge was that? I take the Calhoun bridge from NJ to PA so I don't have to pay the toll and it's pretty in Yardley.
