The Fountain Lady was convicted at least 5 different times for theft and for using stolen credit cards. She has quite the record.
Us Wyomissing locals actually call it the Berk-sheer mall . Thanks for visiting

My eye twitches every time I hear him say Berk-shire mall.

@@JamesDavis-dn3wo LOL! Me too. Try asking for direction to the "Berk-shai-ur" Mountains in Massachusetts and they'll run you outta the state.

Maybe he remembers former Eagles player and sportscaster Tom Brook-shier which has the same pronunciation.

@@JamesDavis-dn3wo Except for the fact the spelling is different. So Berk-shire should/would not be pronounced the same as Brook-shier.

@@VariedVids The ending is pronounced exactly the same at least in Philadelphia and that is how the man himself pronounced it. No mistake about it since it was heard a million times on TV.
No way The philly captain is in my neck of the woods!
You didn't know about the huge and beautiful fountain that was in center court, now covered over. It would go as high as the elevators and had color-changing lights! That was a sight to see. Back in the 70's and 80's, like most malls, it was a great place to shop and for teenagers to hang out!
Great video. I moved from Philadelphia to the Reading area back in 1997 the same year my son was born. I have been to the Berkshire mall many times with my kids over a 15 year period. I moved out of the area since then. Great mall back in the day. I can't believe how dead it looks. It is not a poor area so I don't know why it is not wall to wall people although inflation is putting a damper on shopping.
I practically lived in this mall in college during the 90's. The decor hasn't changed since then. Good memories. Bummed kids don't hang out at malls anymore to keep businesses going. Great video.
Hey Philly Captain, great video, vintage arcade, Taylor Swift story and more at the Berkshire Mall in upper Pa..Enjoy & TOODLES.
Thanks for video awesome mall I enjoyed watching
Great mall. Even better fountain :)
Have not been there in years....
Hey Captain. I moved to the Reading area back in 1997 but no longer there after 15 years. I enjoy watching both your Philadelphia and mall videos. Boscovs is a great place to shop. There are two others to the East of Wyomissing.
Your getting around my neighborhood now, I can remember going to that mall with my parents back in the 80's . Last time I was there, in the 90's my friend got kicked out of that arcade because he looked 16 and this was when turned 22 or 23. To this day he still can' t live it down.
Holy Smokees Captain, you could place a life-sized cardboard cutout photo of Todd standing at one end of the mall and you and Oscar at the other end, then you could practice your Ace Tennis serves with a basket full of tennis balls and never hit anyone in between! Now, if you could just get Tay Tay to be the ball girl...
There is a great bojangles in reading. Only one north of the mason dixon. Used to drive there from nyc for dinner.
sad to see how time has changed things mall was the place to go in 80 s and 90 s mall was always packed
FYE is gone from NY by where I live. I don’t think that there is an FYE on all of Long Island. The arcade is a museum and that’s what makes it so cool.
Haha Capt what are you doing in Berks County so much!? Anyway that mall is slowly dying. If I’d have to take a guess I’d say that mall probably has 5-10 years left, which sucks because it was my favorite mall to go to growing up, and it is very retro looking as you said. All the big name stores keep leaving and all these no name stores selling weird stuff keep coming in. Hell the old Pac Sun store left and they put in a Spanish boxing gym, it’s not even a store lol. Anyway cool video!
Good mall video
Correction the first major mall outside of Philly is The Whitehall Mall built in 1966. That mall unfortunately got half gutted and mostly turned into an outside strip mall because the Lehigh Valley Mall opened directly across the street . That would make an interesting future video for you
I haven't been to the Berkshire Mall in years. It looks nothing like when I worked there almost 40 years ago. They must have added the food court. Used to be a Sbarro on the corner as you came in from the back. There was also an ice cream place across from it. I didn't see any of the shoe stores that used to be there.
this mall is my childhood, every time I went with my parents I got a pretzel and an icee drink haha

I actually see the exact spot I would get it and sit in this video
That arcade brought me back to my youth .
The first credit card I ever got was to John Wanamaker at the Berkshire Mall. I went nuts! Bought a lot of stuff I didn't need, but didn't care...until I got the bill and was left with a bunch of stuff I didn't need.
Wow
Can't go on 422 the time you went.. I can get there in an 1 1/4 hour. Mall looks pretty full.
Seems all malls are dying off. They tore down the Granite Run Mall that was mostly empty for years, not sure how the Springfield mall is still in business (probably because of Target). Haven't been to the King Of Prussia Mall in probably 10 years so don't know how it's doing but it was half empty back then. Things like the outdoor outlet mall in Lancaster are also dead, used to head out there when my folks were still alive and it was always packed, went out there a few months ago and there's only a handful of stores left open.
HEY,.. CAPTAIN Ya ! WOW man Shit I remember Back when I was 14 or 15 in 1977-78 the Mall Where I lived in Bridgeport Connecticut had An elevator that Was so cool when It went down to the floor level it Looked like it Was going right Under the water into the fountain Of course it Wasn't but looked So F_cken real OK Man take care and Stay safe 🙏 Thanks for the Memories
Considering how famous that fountain is, you’d think they’d keep it cleaner.
You might have passed the distribution center driving up.
Keep kicking ass
Dude that malls been dead for years!!! Same with the Coventry Mall
@JadZelPHl

Coventry actually turned into an outdoor mall. They blocked off the entrances and moved the doors of stores from inside to outside
Berk-sheer Mall. Wy-ah-missing. And most of us around here could care less about Taylor Swift.
Screw FYE. They bought out another music store. They were horrible to work for. ( of course they all bought each other out. It was vicious in the 90s) Ps think Coconuts. They were Coconuts im Philly area. Also, someone should make dragons lair for my switch.
What is this magical "Wikipedia" you speak of?
Taylor swift sucks!!!
