The Phillies have built the perfect team to beat the Braves. It took them years of spending tons of money, but all they did was buy superstars who rise to the occasion. As a Braves fan it looks like the Phillies are gonna take the Division this year...we just don't have it offensively with inconsistency and struggling to score runs...and then defensive hiccups like this game don't help matters any either. At first I thought losing Acuna and then Harris was bad but I'm beginning to think that maybe losing Ron Washington and Eric Young Sr. on the coaching staff might be a contributing factor as well. Oh well. 🙄

  • @mrmememan1140

100% losing Washington and Eric Young Sr. will have an impact offensively but the team is just too good to stay this bad for 162 games. Frustrating loss for sure. First off that strike 3 call to end the game was bad, could’ve brought the potential tying run to the plate with Kelenic who is swinging well. But outside of that for one of the rare times this season the pitching collapsed in a few innings, offense started out really slow but ended up scoring late, however it was too late i guess. Either way i think many can agree it was a frustrating loss and especially in a crucial series like this. Schwellenbach on the mound tomorrow. #ForTheA

Notes From the Game: - OUCH, FRIED. 6 ROUGH Innings, Allowing 5 Runs and 11 Hits, Walking 1 and Striking Out 4 on 103 Pitches. Fried Drops to 7-4 with an ERA of 3.18. Just Couldn't Locate the Breaking Pitches as the Game went on, and he got smacked around as a result. - Jesse Chavez Might've Knocked HIMSELF Out of the All-Star Selection with that Blunder of a 7th. YEETED a Throw to Conyers that led to 2 Runs Scoring, then Riley Losing one down the Left Field Line that led to a 3rd. His 8th was Solid though, so his ERA increased to 1.67. + I'll at least give Dylan Lee Credit for Pitching a Clean 9th to give us a Chance. He did allow 1 Hit, but he also Struck Out Former Brave Cristian Pache to clean the slate. ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 8 Runs, 15 Hits, 1 Walk, 8 Strike Outs, 2 Home Runs Allowed. Surprisingly, the Braves didn't leave much Baserunners on Base Tonight... But Despite Out-Homering the Phillies, 3-2, The Totals didn't line up for a Win. + AUSTIN 3:16 CONTINUES TO SMASH! 1-3 with a Two-Run Super Missile in the 4th, and a Walk in the 8th! Riley stands in with a .255 Average, an OPS of .773, and 11 Home Runs on the Season! + The OZ-MAN with a SOLID NIGHT! 3-4 with Two Singles and a Solo Super Missile to the Chop House! Albies holds onto a .263 Average, an OPS of .731, and 7 Homers on the Year! + THE BIG BEAR FOUND HIS BIG STICK! 1-4 with a Three-Run Super Missile to the Right-Center Field Seats! Ozuna Stands Firm with a .296 Average, .937 OPS, and 22 Home Runs on the Season! - OTHER NOTBALES: Matt Olson, Travis d'Arnaud, and Orlando Arcia were the Only Other Braves to get a Hit, while Austin Riley was the only Brave to earn a Walk. Adam Duvall, Eli White, and Jarred Kelenic went a Combined 0-12 with 5 Ks. - A TOUGH LOSS to take for the Braves, as it pushes us down to 10 Games Behind Philadelphia. However, the Offense DID show some signs of finding the Ignition. But with how Philly was able to TORCH us with their 'Limited' Offense... It's Clear Our Pitching is STILL LACKING SEVERELY, And Can't Carry the Offense Forever. The Situation Deteriorates with each Loss, and we can't continue to dwindle games like this. - The Situation gets EVEN WORSE: The Cardinals AND the Padres are now 1 1/2 Games Behind the Braves for the TOP SPOT IN THE WILD CARD, and the Giants & Diamondbacks are within 4 1/2 Games of the Braves for a Wild Card Slot in General. It's a Bad Dream that's slowly turning into a NIGHTMARE... One I fear we may not be able to wake up from. TOMORROW: ROUND 2 OF 3 Between the Phillies and Braves will take place under the Evening Skies of Truist Park. The Phillies, With an Opening Win in this Series, Show No Mercy, and Send their Current ACE, Ranger Suarez, to the Rubber. However, Suarez didn't fare as well in the Month of June, going 1-1 with an ERA of 3.48. His recent Start against the Fish was his worst start; Allowing 6 Runs on 10 Hits, Walking 2 and Striking Out None while being unable to finish the 5th. However, with the Braves pushing Lopez to Sunday, It means we'll have to endure another start from SPENCER SCHWELLENBACH, Who's Had Two Straight Losses with the Same Song and Dance: Four Innings of Potential Promise, Undone by ONE HORRIFIC INNING. He's Allowed 8 Runs on 13 Hits in his last 10 Innings as a result... and Now he's being Tossed into the Fire against the Phillies. Can SCHWELLENBACH show any kind of potential against what feels like a WRECKING CREW of a Phillies' Lineup? Or will Suarez and the Phils' FLATTEN the Tone of SCHWELLENBACH and the Tomahawk Chop? We're going to find out at 7:15 P.M. EDT EXCLUSIVELY ON FOX (National). SoundFX09, Signing Out.

See, the umpire thinks he’s PART OF the show. He thinks people are there to see HIM. One of the biggest problems baseball has is the umps thinking they’re part of the game. They’re not. They’re just supposed to call it properly. They think they’re entertainers. They aren’t. Go away
