    The 1970 Philadelphia Eagles finished in the NFC East cellar at 3-10-1 and had no representatives in the Pro Bowl. However, there was a bright spot when rookie Lee Bouggess caught 50 passes.

    I love that the Eagles have uploaded most of their video yearbooks. You can go year by year and see the evolution of the players, uniforms, stadiums etc.. I wish more teams would do this.

    I love watching Norm Snead pass. A pure passer of the highest order. Just imagine what kind of records that Norm would have today, playing under the rule changes that came "after" Snead's career had ended. Extended season, rule changes that handcuffed the Defense and eliminated the "powerhouse" Defenses of pre-rule change years. Gone were Defenses like the Dallas Cowboy "Doomsday" Defense, Pittsburgh Steelers "Curtain of Steel" Defense, the LA Rams "Fearsome Foursome", and the Minnesota Vikings "Purple People Eaters" Defense to name a few. Rule changes to help run-up football scores. The mindset and rule changes finished me off as a rabid Pro Football fan. It is so good to relive my past days as a Pro Football fan watching these videos of games played right, played like they should be, and played with a different attitude. Imagine what a Jim Brown could have done playing under 2023 NFL.

    The Eagles had enough of Norm Snead. He got traded to Minnesota after the 1970 season and lost the starting QB position to Gary Cuozzo

  • @DNSKansas

    Pete Liske and Rick Arrington were a downgrade from Snead in '71. John Reaves was no better in '72. It wasn't until the Eagles traded for Roman Gabriel that the QB position was competent again.

    Frank Macy I saw a 1969 game of the week between the Eagles vs Cowboys. The Eagles wore Green Jersey and a Green Helmet for that game. I know it was 1969 because they had the 50 year patch on the left side of the jersey.

  • @frankmacy1879

    @frankmacy1879

    That must have been a road game at the Cotton Bowl, where the Cowboys tradionally wear white jerseys. So the green helmets were a road game staple, not related to the jersey worn that game. I remember the '70 thru '73 seasons, when the Eagles wore their white jerseys, together with white pants, then with white helmets, it was just too much white !
