Just ask cats like Manning who they looked up to. Marino was shattering records in an era when you could still grab recievers off the line & downfield. And Marino didn't have Wr's like Harrison & Reggie Waynem. Duper was a speedster & Clayton was a solid reciever & great route runner but neither will sniff the HOF. After them he his best wr was probably Irving Fryer at the down side of his career. Marino also never had a Marshal Faulk or Edgerin James in the backfeild. Marino on 4th and short more often than not goes deep and I like that. It showed how much confidence he had in his arm and in his receivers to make the catch. The sad thing about Marino is that his teams came up short in winning Super Bowls. If he was on championship rosters we would be talking about him as one of the greatest QBs in NFL history. Instead he loses in arguments when compared to Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning and probably soon Patrick Mahomes.

Duper vs Eric Allen. Miami was missing Mark Clayton and Tony Paige, but Buddy never learned from his previous two matchups (85 Bears, 87 Eagles) that you don't win by blitzing Marino. That Buddy Ryan Philly defense had ballers all over the field! Reggie was obviously the best player but guys like Seth Joyner, Clyde Simmons, Eric Allen and the lates Andre Waters and Jerome Brown, were tremendous in there own right. There offense led by "Scrambling" Randell wasn't too shabby either. Disappointing how they never even got to a conference championship together.

That 1990 Dallas team was actually on a roll: 3-7 at one point before winning 3 straight games. Plus they had won 4 games combined the previous 2 seasons

Marino mightve been the best pure passer but cunningham was also a great pure passer and had the mobility to carry an offense against anybody....philly just didnt have a great front office back then

    1. 3:45 has "get over here" vibes. 2. I know there called the Kelly Green jerseys, but seeing Jerome Brown & Randall Cunningham in these. It forever be their jersey. 3. Reggie White had a few one vs. One moment in this highlight, which is crazy.

Things I noticed: very little running in this game, Cunningham was running like a rb out there, Dan marino had a hell of an arm, and Reggie white I’m sure was doubled the whole game

Around 15:00, Mike Patrick says Dan Marino has his first 300-yard game of the season. It took him 14 weeks to do it. Imagine saying that about Marino in any season.
