    Sterling is unanimously seen as being the Best Grappler in the Division - In their Fight: Yan had a 100% Takedown Accuracy (7/7). And he had a 94% TD Defense (16/17). That is absolutely insane. He is significantly outstriking the best Strikers in the Division (and the entire Sport), AND he’s outgrappling the best Grapplers in the Division.

    The UFC barely pays their fighters (you know, the people responsible for the UFC continuing to be able to sell fights), let alone supporting staff, and they are becoming very typically corporate as time passes, they are honestly more likely to slap a Cease and Desist on Molly, or just copyright blockade him, than hire him unfortunately. Actually working on generating positive publicity through multiplatform media using guys like Molly is way beyond the rational ability of the UFC upper echelons.

    There's no accident that Dustin Poirier believes Petr Yan is the best boxer at the UFC: both Dustin and Petr started out in boxing, learned all the fundamentals in boxing before transitioning to MMA... so whereas non-boxers may not see the fine details Dustin sees, being another person who knows boxing fundamentals, he knows Petr really has good boxing skills. Neither may be talented enough to be elite boxers; but both KNOW fundamental boxing principles most pure MMA guys don't, even the elite MMA strikers.

He was technically outstruck in those 3 Fights, he had an absolutely razor thin fight against Gastelum, and he was definitely not dominant against Vettori. Yan hasn’t even definitively lost a round, let alone a fight; He hasn’t really had close fights the way Izzy has, and I’d argue that Yan’s been facing better Strikers than Izzy. Plus, I think that a lot of Izzy’s success comes from leg kicks; but that has a lot to do with his size/reach.

    I love the way he turns it up later in the fight like the boxer he is. When someone like Derrick Lewis gives you a false sense of security it usually it means you’re allowed to tee off before he puts you down, however eventually this catches up to you because the next opponent knows you’re waiting for one shot. But with Petr he merely allows it to be competitive until he decides to turns it up so you would never really know if he’s at his best or just being patient

    Call me crazy … But I legitimately think he’s the #1 Pound For Pound Fighter in the World. If you could shrink Usman down to a Bantamweight-I think Yan beats him.

  • @Feel_the_Wrath

    @Feel_the_Wrath

    Couldn’t agree more. Man is such a killer. I honestly wonder who can beat him in his division. I mean we all know that aljo was losing so there’s no question there, cory lost pretty definitively despite it being very competitive, another fight with aldo would be competitive considering José’s adjustments in his style but i feel that petr would beat him again, and tj, tj i feel loses a kickboxing fight with petr similarly to the cory fight. So the question remains, who can beat him?🤷‍♂️

  • @CipherSerpico

    @CipherSerpico

    @@Feel_the_Wrath 💯 The only guy that I could see _possibly_ giving Yan any kind of trouble-is Merab. But that’s still probably a long shot. But he’s really the only one I can think of. It’s just crazy to think that such a stacked Division can have such a dominant Champ. Volk is actually the only fighter I could see beating Yan, but that also has to do with the size/strength advantage Volk would have. We’ll probably never see that since they’re friends, but I think that would be the most talented matchup in the history of the sport. I actually think Yan and Volk are #1/2 p4p. I used to have Usman at #1, on my tapology ranking, but after seeing their last fights I changed it to Yan, Volk, Usman.

  • @Feel_the_Wrath

    @Feel_the_Wrath

    @@CipherSerpico Merab is a weird case imo. The man is a literal machine(hence his nickname) solid chin and his cardio is practically endless, BUT yan too has some of those attributes. Striking and power is super solid compared to merab’s which is more volume-based. Merab’s wrestling is great but yan can defend that all day but i agree, considering as much as merab shoots, that might be his toughest test. Volko vs Yan would be an absolute 5 round war, skill for skill that is so razor thin, strength for strength im not so sure because of the weight difference between the two. Which makes me wonder, since Petr is probably the strongest guy in bantamweight, imagine what kind of a tank he’d look like at featherweight. But i digress. Im not too sure who would win that fight and im not sure it will ever happen as you said, they’re friends and training partners but then again, who knows? Friend-fights do happen all the time after all. (Usman vs Burns, Ridell vs Fiziev, Cruz vs Munhoz) Yeah, he’s definitely p4p #1 material and very well could be very soon. I would say as of right now he is the best based on their last fights. He made the best adjustments and wasnt close to losing(although i will say i was delusional as hell for live-scoring cory sandhagen a 48-47 because i felt it was that close, it wasnt after i rewatched it however), volk had a competitive yet a rather dominant performance imo with a 50-44 scoring, was the closest to getting finished out of them though. Mainly the Guillotine, not so much the triangle or D’arce. And Usman was the closest fight to score out of them. Idk how they didnt score that 2nd round a 10-8 but if i remember correctly that the fight couldve/shouldve been a draw due to that 10-8, I believe this is how the weasle scored that but i might have to go back and watch it again to see what he was talking about because I honestly forgot. Anyways, out of them, i feel that petr is indeed the most dominant, hasnt been close to finished in any of his fights(unless you count the john dodson fight where he got dropped), he usually drops the first round to make calculations and then makes adjustments, which imo makes him the best fighter at adjustments in general. One of the highest fight iq’s out there. If not the highest.

    FOR ALL THE GUYS READING THIS: just for the record, that "negging" stuff only works on unintelligent, insecure women. if a woman has half a brain, and you aren't polite to her, she tells you to go away & never speaks to you again. people used to ask my boyfriend at the time "how did you get her?" and he said "we were polite to each other from the word go". if you want a moron headcase for a partner, do the "negging" bullshit. if you want an honourable, loyal woman who always has your back, be respectful, or she'll ditch your ass so fast your head will spin.
