This series turning into a game is NUTS!

Black can try promoting to a bishop, the stalemate trap won't work and they'll still be up two pawns. But after Bd2 there's no way to hold the g5 pawn and at some point the white bishop can sac itself for the final pawn. But it's a way to keep the game going and maybe try to win on time.

Actually, white don't even need to take the pawns. If black gets a bishop, this will be a fortress position since white king is on a light square to block both pawns, and white bishop can play waiting moves to avoid being put into zugswang, there's no way for black to make any progress even black has 2 extra pawns

And i do not think that a bishop and those pawns would be enough, since white would have a bishop to defend and the pawns are dubled

It’s that caterpillar from a long time ago😡😡😡😡😡😡😡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s hope the fishermen get that caterpillar and make him pay for everything he has done. First he cheats in a chess tournament, now he steals the golden key. That’s it, the caterpillar is so grounded for a billion years once he gets caught. You know to be honest, perhaps the caterpillar isn’t a bad guy but rather someone else who is desperate to get off of the island like the fishermen but who knows if he’s a legitimate villain or a broken character that needs redemption.

If the caterpillar steals the golden key, either he wants the three fishermen to not leave this island forever, or he is just being greedy and wanted to get more wealth.

I think I would like it as a game. Some of the puzzles may go over my head as an early intermediate player, but I think I would enjoy them as I do in the videos.

Yes!!!! Definitely would get this game!!! I think I might’ve commented something along these lines in the early days of the adventure, or if not I thought it 😂 it looks like it would be ideally suited to something like that with the art style, you could potentially add pathway options for the player, like those old “turn to page X books” too. There are a lot of fun things you could do with this! Exciting stuff 😊

A mobile game is a great idea, even if you reuse the puzzles from this series. You could link this series as a sort of "hint/solution" guide, you always do a good job with pausing for us and it could help when we're stuck. Another idea: link the training room to the game somehow and you can put in some endgame tips/tricks, and stalemate practice. Turn the training room into it's own side progression of sorts!

I guess getting a bishop for black does not allow for progress with doubled pawns, that would be the only promotion that prevent capture or stalemate.

It looks like Bg3 also works, as 2. a2 Bxa2 3. bxa Be1.

I think an interactive game would be rather interesting. With all the chess puzzles and even non-chess puzzles like lock puzzle in this episode would be fun and I'd definitely give that a go!

I would love to see a game. I also have a few ideas 1. When you launch the app for the first time, a fisherman will ask you questions so the game will give puzzles for your level 2. When you spawn in, a cutscene will play where the fishermen get stranded on the same island as episode one, it is the same old villager, but the puzzle is different 3. You can select the fishermen’s elos, so instead of Bobby Fischerman having a Elo of 2800, you can choose it so he can have a lower of higher Elo. The most Elo you can select a fishermen is 2850, and you can only give one high Elo to one fishermen 4. When puzzle island is reached, instead of following the story, you go around the island, visiting different landmarks and interacting with locals 5. You can ask any local to give you a puzzle 6. If a puzzle is solved, then you can earn coins. Using the coins, you can buy stuff in the shop (which you can choose) and also if earned enough, can get you a ticket in the dragons lair to get gold and escape. The game’s purpose is to escape the island 7. You can participate in events like the puzzle festival, where you can face off against other real players, the winner will win a prize 8. Daily quests 9. You have 5 chances to solve a puzzle correctly, if all of them are gone, then you fail the puzzle and can pay coins to restart, or abandon the puzzle and find a different one to solve 10. If the game is beaten, you can rebirth and start the adventure over, but it’s harder, or if chosen not to rebirth, you can revisit the island and leave for free. In the revisit, you can continue exploring and solving more puzzles

Actually your first move Bd6 is good because if they push the a pawn we'll just sac the bishop to take it and when pawn takes back, we move Bb4 and then after black promotes to Q, we sac the bishop in Bc3+, Q takes stalemate (did not calculate the underpromotion of bishop tho)
