Nc5 intuitively made sense to have a 2nd attacking piece in range for checks, and then it's also easy to visualize the repetition. But the 2nd knight move was much trickier.
I learn 10x more from Nelson, than others because Nelson wants to teach while they just loosely commentate on their own games without revealing their prep work. Thank you Nelson
Moral:- Just give checks because you may checkmate, draw in most of cases. 💀
what if black sacs the queen to take out the knight at 6:19. When white takes back the king is not in check and black has a move?

If black moves the pawns on B2 or H2 to the lower rank, the white queen can immediatly take them. If black moves the king to protect the pawn on B2, white can move their queen to H1 and get the draw that's mentioned later in the video. Either way white can draw the game.

I wish he’d went into this because it’s actually a tricky line to find the right moves, but it ends draw by repetition. After Qxe4 Kc1 Qh1+ Kc2 Qxh2+ Kb1 Qh1+ Ka2 Qh2 pins the pawn, then after Ka1 white has to play the move Qe5 to pin the pawn (pretty tricky to spot if you’re in a hurry imo), then its a draw by repetition. If after ka1 you play Qh1+ you lose on the spot because this time black can promote on b1 blocking the check, attacking the queen, defended by the king. Pretty cool draw with the pins imo

No matter what pawn black promotes, white queen simply takes it, and you’re back to the scenario where the white queen can keep checking the king and black has no way to get out of it.
You should make more of this Video about Puzzle. It's Entertaining to watch.
Yay more puzzles!
Hi Nelson. Just wanted to say how much I’ve been enjoying your content on this channel. I’ve been watching many of your videos over the past six months and got back into playing chess as a direct result, improving my lower-mid rating and simply getting better over time. You explain things clearly and keep it entertaining too. Figured if I left a comment on one of your most recent videos, you were more likely to see it. :) Thanks for everything you do, you’re very good at it.

That's the craziest position we solved!😂😏
Kinda reminiscent of Fabi vs Nepo game 14 at the candidates with the knight and queen going for a draw
Hi Nelson have you played any of the chessdivers? Scanner was a walkover, now I'm mustering the courage to play Fighter. Later: Fighter ain't so tough.
At the 5:14 mark would have been good to analyze the queen takes knight as it's not immediately obvious the draw in that scenario. Since the white queen to e4 wouldn't put black in check and could do like pawn to h1 and then king to c2?
3. Qa7+ also works
Puzzle finally!!!!!
the highlight of this puzzle was black's king walks around the white's knight while being checked by white's queen!
2:35 Anything wrong with ...Qa8+ followed by promoting the h pawn? Happens several times in the video, where you suggest a less forcing queen move for black instead of checking and promoting.

It's blocked by the king and a pawn is in the way of the check.

@@lethalty6055 what? I think you're upside down in your head, look at the coordinates on the board. Instead of ...Qg2, I'm asking whether black should play ...Qa8+.

Nothing wrong with it, since you still get a second queen, but I guess threatening mate in 2 is his ideal idea.

Black can play Qc1 or Qa8+ or Qg2
Knight e4… I think even if you take with queen immediately black could win. Not entirely sure; that one isolated pawn could create trouble.
6:19 Ahem Ahem! This Woman is coming out.
I dont understand what is stopping the queen from taking the knight on e4 when the king is on e3?

The king is in check from the queen, he is the only piece that can be moved in that situation.
I thought knight to e5😞
Gold
3:33 Isn't that a solution to the prompt given? Through perpetual check, White will reach a draw through three-fold repetition.
@Croggidy

yes it is, he never said that it would be wrong from white, he's explaining why it would be wrong for black to let that draw happen
When the knight goes on e4 why can’t the queen take the knight instead of the king
@MaxCandyFilm

Because the king is checked by the queen so it needs to move away

@@s--cn8ee The knight is checking the king, so black can capture it with the queen. White can still get a draw after recapturing, though.

7:05 actually, that is a win for white, because Qxh2 happens with check, allowing white to capture all pawns in time.

Wrong colour king, the white queen ‘checks’ the white king, not the black
