Bizarre love triangle is one of the most beautiful songs ever
Hooky's the difference maker in JD and NO. The way he can make his bass the rhythm AND lead instrument is unprecedented. Great work my man!

Sumner is a great composer. Morris is an extraordinarily skilled drummer and Hook discovered a mournful soul in a bass guitar. They are so good that we forgive them for not being a great singers or lyricists.

@@greghutchison6690I think Bernard has many great lyrics. Bizarre love triangle for example is one of the most beautiful songs ever largely due to its lyrics

Les Claypool has done the same thing for almost 4 decades.i would say far better too.
That’s a nice bass ,the Peter Hook signature. Good stuff.
Hooky is my favorite bass player...so original.
Incredibly smooth. I’m fifty years old now and wanting to take up bass . The bass line from Thieves Like Us is beautiful.

Love how New Order fused synth bass with Hook’s electric bass lines it made for a really warm sound
As a JD and NO fan I really enjoyed your work here but the most cool part is your Black kitten . It's *so* cute ! JD+NO bass lines + a kitten= perfection. ;)
Good choice of songs. Leave me alone in particular. Saying that, I love them all.
Peter Hook is the Geezer Butler of punk; like Butler his bass playing conveys emotions.

12" version of Thieves Like Us - nice !!!
great selection !! ... but i missed "REGRET" that song has a great bass line too ... thanks for the video !!
I still have a bunch of New Order singles on vinyl. Saw them in concert once when they were in Vancouver.
forgot how many great bass lines Peter played.great vid man
This is great! Hooky had some of the best bass lines ever. Love the droning bass in JD as well as early New Order songs.
Sounds great Manny! Thanks for the demo of these sweet bass lines and I love the bass and amp!!
Yamaha BB with Vps7 great high tone !!! Thanks for this twenty minutes of emotion ...

Peter Hook played the base like a second lead guitar.
Amazing!

Great job!I think the bass part from Blue Monday that you played was played on a synth though while Hooky played the more melodic part.
Great job Brother!

I loved it, it's great! Great work. If I could give you a little help: Transmission is mostly down picking, it gives that monotone sound.
Hooky is the shit!!!
cool upload 🔥🎸🔥 16:40 😄
Thanks Manny. I learned some new idea from this. With the kitten intervention, ironically during "Leave Me Alone", is this also officially a "cat video" ;)?
think blue monday line its from the keyboard, not the bass line ... sounds real good anyway

Oo the Dreams Never End intro is also great (idk if it’s played by Hooky though)
You do a really good job of covering
sounds like PH plays all downstrokes on Transmission to me - great job on these
🤘🏻🤩
missed Regret.... but you are great!!!!
Nice bass -- is that a vintage Yamaha? And gold hardware? I have a 1980 Pulser 400 which I enjoy, and have been recently considering another Yamaha. Excellent quality build and sound. And great playing. That droning bass is tough to consistently achieve. So very well done. Thanks.

@@mannydbass7947 Sounds and looks great. Actually didn't know that he had a signature bass. I will probably always think of him playing the old Ric copy from JD days (with which I am most familiar). But, again, that sure looks like a great instrument. Thanks.
Awesome video! However, I have some feedback. On Twenty-Four Hours and She's Lost Control, if you strum an empty D string with the G string notes, it sounds a lot better
All classics, well, if your a Joy Vision and New Order fan,. You make it look so easy. Congrats. But look interested m8.

Tbf they aren’t hard. I learn JD/NO basslines very quickly and I’ve been playing for only a month. It doesn’t change the fact that they’re absolutely beautiful basslines and are a major reason why new order is my favourite band of all time

You're playing the keyboard parts on Blue Monday. PH doesn't play those.
Sound of Music ?
Why not "Someone like you"?
Peter Hook actually had a nervous breakdown when the band made Thieves Like Us cause it was the first time in his life he played the E string lower than the 6th fret.

Sitting Hookie is not Hookie :D
"Blue Monday" was not how Peter played it. He just plays what sounds like the Westerny Surfy, Ennio Morricone-style guitar riffs on the record... and on the Shergold 6.
Blue monday you played synth not a bass at all
simple but somehow perfect
