Peter Chadwick: Caught | Full Episode
A “48 Hours” report helps trip up a wanted fugitive who spent more than four-and-a-half years on the run for allegedly killing his wife and staging a kidnapping. Correspondent Tracy Smith reports. Watch more full episodes of "48 Hours" on Pluto TV.
"Peter Chadwick, who murdered his wife at their home in Newport Beach, California, was on the run when we first told the story of the manhunt for him. But he knew authorities were closing in on him - because, as we later found out when he was caught, he watched our '48 Hours' from his hiding place!" - Tracy Smith on why the story is important.

Please rethink Tracy Smith as an interviewer. She's too over the top and why does she have to repeat everything everyone says??? 'You mean he stopped here?' 'You mean it was a suitcase full of men's clothes!?' "You mean he watched us on 48 hours..you mean he saw us??? You said he watched us on TV?' Good god, that's what the man said.

Orange County court are very corrupt.. it’s disgusting. It’s all about money and connections. My mother n laws husband got kidnapped by his own son made his father sign all his pov and money to him. Paid a bunch of lawyers in Orange County that were connected to the judge. He put his father in a nursing home. And he got away with this. Gave around 200k to lawyers n court kept the rest. And he’s still trying to take my mother n law to court she’s 87. It’s his step son. A man who kills the mother of his kids doesn't give a crap about his children. To believe he wouldn't run away because of his kids is such a joke
“And there was no-Juan in the vehicle” 😂 I know that was done on purpose
He should spend the rest of his life in prison for what he did to his wife and kids.

Rich or not, killing and dumping someone's body in a trash dumpster shows the amount of hate you have in your heart. Chad the devil, didn't want or love his family at all. Sad story, my deepest condolences.

They say if a man loves the children, then he loves the wife. Conversely, if he doesn't love the children, then he doesn't love the wife. The fact that he murdered her and deposited her body in a dumpster says he was very angry with her. The fact he abandoned the 3 sons says he didn't love her. It seems that when he married her, she was young, pretty, and depended on him, but in time, she evolved, became independent, and looked like a Mom. His mistake, with all his money, was he didn't just divorce her. He could have given her and the kids the house and provided alimony until the kids were grown and she married someone else. He would have made out better than living in some remote Mexican town without his passports, on the run, and bussing tables. Make it make sense.

If that Peter man had been a black or Latino working-class man the judge and police would have put him in jail to await trial. But this is another rich man protected by the judicial system.

Legend has it that Heidi is still carrying that mug to this day.
To be able to do that to the mother of your children knowing how it would devastate them shows the extreme lack of empathy and how utterly self absorbed he is. Even if you hated your spouse, I think Most people would not be able to go that far simply because they wouldn’t want to hurt their children.
For someone to be fortunate to have such a beautiful house and children and millions of dollars and thinks to hurt another especially close ones is beyond EVIL this guy is a psychopath

As someone who grew up in a very working class family in a very working class town and didn't have running hot water in our house until I was 11. That was in the UK then at 24 I moved to the US and married a trust fund lady who came from a very wealthy old money background I seen how both sides live. I can honestly say there were far more emotional and physiological problems in the rich family than I ever seen growing up. Mother was bipolar and having affair with a 20yr her junior Russian illegal immigrant with her husband's knowledge. The eldest daughter was sectioned to a mental hospital at 14 by her parents I could go on all day, bottom line money doesn't change anything if your evil or a lunatic then all the money and nice houses in the world won't change a thing. Sad but true.
