The bottom line is when Peter Alonso Fired his Agent and Hired Scott Boras, a Contract Extension was No Longer because Boras is All about Selling his Clients to the Highest Bidder in MLB Free Agency.

Wrong. Boras would take league minimum for Pete for a free Mackey Sasser signed glove. He knows Pete hits .212.

Still think that's overrated?

Wow! Pete seems to be prepping for a career in politics. He sidestepped questions and spoke at length without addressing any of the issues. I like Pete. I've liked him from the start. That being said, hiring Scott Boras is an indication of his intentions. Show me the money. It pains me to say this but why the anguish? Pete is an average first baseman. His base running is unimpressive. With a .217 batting average he either hit a dinger or an out. I'd like for him to stay, but if he wants to leave, so be it. The Mets have bigger problems than Pete's decision.

I’m 50/50 if we have to trade him we trade him we have to do what’s best for the future people only think about today, but forget about tomorrow then look back and are stuck with a 10 year contract that they regret in a couple of years.

Because he out after the season. Boras is seeking 300M+ for 10 years. Mets aren't going to pay that for a 31 year old.

it baffles me how we waste money on free agents like Verlander and Max , whose wages we're paying to play for other teams yet we can't sign this guy - who has the crowd on the edge of their seats every time he's at-bat. What are we doing????????

He wants that 10 yr contract and he's not getting it from this team. Pete saying he "envisioned" being a lifelong Met says it right there. He's not coming back after the 2024 season.

He's Gone. He Refer The Met's as this Group He"s already separated himself from the team. It's really SAD. Why can't the Met's realize how important he is to this line-up. His presence in the line-up is worth it . He Sounds like Darryl Strawberry and DeGrom before they left. My aunt Took Me to the Polo grounds to see the Mets in the Sixties (60s) It wasn't the best of times back then ,but as a loyal fan.I would Love to see this team Truly build us fan a winner. GO METS

Our fans don’t like his .212 typical avg. If I’m the owner I’d say look, “I’ll give you one dollar. This is a fun child’s sport. Play for free and we will give you a pat on the back. You could always daytrade in your spare time.”

Met fans...he's GONE. Pay attention to his verbage, his tone. This is drasticially different than he has sounded in the past. This is businessman Pete who is already in his mind knowing his Mets tenure is ending. The LFGM Pete is yesterdays news. This is pre-DeGrom leaving sounding Pete. I'm already prepared for his exit and any smart Met fan should do the same

If he was serious about being a lifelong Met, he wouldn’t have hired Boras. The Mets need to trade him, cause he’s out of here after this year
