Jenna is held to a much higher standard than other youtubers. I remember when she got lambasted initially for her hamster and fish videos but she made sure to correct those mistakes and address that publicly and I think that's what I like the most about her

She and Shane Dawson are both incredibly down to earth and genuinely kind hearted people. I think it has something to do with just how long they've been around on KZread, they've been here since '08 / '09, and unlike a lot of KZreadrs back then, they're still going strong. Also Jenna having her 'I don't give a fuck I'ma do what I wanna do every week" attitude is just the best. It makes her videos 10x more enjoyable when it's obviously something she just wanted to do, have fun with and just be fucky.

Not only is her care amazing, but her growth with this hamster was amazing! In her first video where she got Ad she was really misinformed and when commenters told her so, she COMPLETELY changed the way she took care of him, bought a new enclosure and all new products, it was just amazing. She reacted to people giving her new information so well, and that's not something you see a lot when it comes to animal care, especially small animals like rodents or fish. She deserves all the respect in my book, I couldn't have been happier to watch the transformation as a subscriber.

Nicole Butler she's so good about taking advice when it's warrented. The video where she explained what happened with her fish was so great. It made my heart hurt to see her so upset but it was important that she addressed it because she didn't want to put misinformation about pet care on the internet. Some people kept saying, "oh they're just fish, get over it. It's not a big deal." But to her it was a big deal and that to me showed how much animal life means to her while also showing that she'll easily put her ego aside when she makes a mistake no matter how small it seems to others.

True , if I'm not messing it up I remember seeing the video when she first got a cage and stuff for her hamster and it was quite small and somw otber things were not ideal for a hamster too, so people started to comment on that immediately and she was actually listening to them, advising her to check out other KZreadrs hamster care videos, ones who even specialised in hamster care and talking about cage requirements etc. I don't watch her regularly and didn't know her, but I noticed some time later, that she had gotten him a bigger cage and lots of stuff to play with and was really happy for the little one and for her not being ignorant, like many people tend to be, whenever someone else is pointing out a mistake they made, or they get corrected for being misinformed about something. Especially if it's someome who is already well known in a community, people can be quite defensive when corrected about a certain subject, even if the advice is meant to be helpful ,not to pick on them or blame them.

At the beginning, I really thought that this was going to be another video where you point out everything wrong. I also thought the conclusion would be you saying that her hamster died in a year because she didn’t properly take care of ad; however, I’m really glad I watched the whole video before commenting. You reassured everyone that she was giving that hamster the proper care, which contrasts some of the people who thought Jenna was the cause of Ad’s death.

I was so sad when Ad died, it wasn't long after she posted this video. I know it broke her and Julien's hearts too. They spoiled that little guy rotten I loved watching them interact with him and their pups as well

It was a 75 gallon tank :) they upgraded him from a 40 breeder. Jenna and Julien loved Ad soooo much

And this is why Jenna and Julien are some of my favorite youtubers/people. They are so genuine and kind.

Awe ad 😕 such a sweet little guy. He was elderly when she got him. Vet said he was an old guy and died from old age.

Rose McGlinn he was 1. And they can live up to 3 years. I'm not saying he didn't have a good life though. It happens, they don't always have the best genetics.

depending on what type of hamster he was, i'm not sure exactly, it could be 2-3 years on average. So if what the vet told them was true and he was an adult when they bought him them having him for a year and him passing of old age is probably just what happened. They did make a few videos saying that he didn't grow any bigger when they had him so they thought he was an older guy from the start they just didn't think he was as old as he was.

Pointing out big youtubers pros and cons of pet care is so important, I definitely support this series. -Jenna gets called out for pet care so fast and then addresses and fixes a situation. But I wish vloggers who buy (and some how discard(?) animals) get called out more often. Not to get hate, but to spread proper information and general respect for animals.

Adrianna Joelle Girl yes!! I literally saw a vlogger buy 700 goldfish and just dump them in a pond!! I could not believe it. He was so ignorant and doing everything for the views, completely forgetting that these were LIVE ANIMALS. He even wanted the pet store to put all 700 of them into the same bag... Like, excuse me?

Tina Ditrius Goldfish are an invasive species. They cannot be dumped into any pond you find. Goldfish are native to East Asia and will upset ecosystems when released into "the wild" anywhere else. They can decimate local fish populations. So no, they do not belong in ponds in the US

Speaking of Jenna, I remember at some point she asked peeps to roast her dogs(jokingly, of course none of it was serious). Would that be something you might do in the future? It might be fun.

When I saw the title of this video I was ready to defend the shit out of her because she is perfect and LOVED that hamster and took great care of him. Thank you for acknowledging youtubers who do care for their pets properly and who obviously care a lot for animals. You can tell from her fish video how much she cares. Yes she should have done her own research but she has been so responsible and she really does care. Also I feel like I killed her hamster because the day before he died I watched the video where she got the hamster and I made a comment about their short life span and then he actually died.

It's nice to see a huge youtuber promoting proper animal care. So many people rely on the advice of pet store employees. It's understandable, you'd think they'd know what they're talking about but sadly most don't. People need to do their own research and reach out to people with experience! Did you see her fish video? It was amazing! She returned the fish because the employee at the fish store gave her bad advice. It's sweet to see someone care more about the animal's well being than her own wants. I truly hope she's adopts another hamster that needs a good mommy!

I loved her fish video. She got fish, but then realized her issues. Instead of sweeping it under the rug she still showed it all and explained the wrong things that happened. You should react to it!! 😊

I feel so bad for the way I kept my hamsters when I was younger because I didn’t know better.

She did have an issue with the fish, but she corrected it the best she could which I respect the hell out of her for

My ex friend treated her hamster horribly! Kept him in a critter cage and never cleaned his cage 😔 and never gave him time to stretch his legs. she gave him to me because she didn’t want him anymore and I gave him all he needed but weirdly and sadly he was very very aggressive with me. He would legit attack me everytime I would try to do anything with his cage. The only way I could let him roam was to get him in his ball or use heavy material gloves. Out of all my years of owning hamsters I have never seen such an aggressive hamster in my life. It was such a sad site to see.....

It's late and you might already know that, but some hamsters are very territorial about their cage and better to tame out of it. Hold a piece of tube or a hide in front of it, for dwarfs it even works with a coffee mug or similar things, maybe with a treat in it and wait it to go in, then lift it out of the cage. Some rodents are more comfortable with this transfer method. But maybe this one is judt messed up because no one properly cared for him earlier in his life, nor got him used to handling or even hurt him before....

When I saw this video I was like "oh he better not be nit picking Jenna's hamster care" but when I watched it... This is my fav video that you've ever made! Most people that keep more exotic animals don't usually know about what a hamster needs but I'm so happy that you do! Please make more hamster videos!! ❤️

I love how genuine jenna is. Like she makes mistakes honestly as everyone does, then when she learns better she fixes it immediately and apologizes. Such a good person.

I'd like to also point out, she's an incredible dog mom too. Checks to ensure she never feeds her dogs something they shouldn't eat, checking the asphalt on really hot days to make sure its okay for them to walk on, they're very well-cared for and trained pretty well in my opinion. I know she's a big youtuber, but I still feel like she's too underappreciated. I love her so much.

Jenna is honestly an amazing hamster mom, allowing him so much cage space, lots of toys, etc. Ad was a lucky little guy.

I appreciate that you validated how well Jenna cared for Ad. She went through a lot to make sure he had the best possible life in her house, and she felt so horrible when he died.

Jenna is my favourite, any time she made a mistake she corrected it hours later or a day later at the most, also R.I.P. Ad

Jenna also takes good care of her dogs. I havent watched her videos in a while, but I remember she was always really thoughtful.

Jenna actually inspired me to get my hamster a second cage to connect to her old one so she has more room, get a bigger wheel, and in general focus on her wellbeing more than I had ever before. I have had my hamster Alex now for a little over a year and with her new cage and toys she is happier than ever. Her encouraging others to care for their fur babies is amazing and very helpful! I am super glad you agree and take the time to also show what a good hammy owner does!

Seeing stuff like this just makes me love her more as both a person and a youtuber, shes so great ❤

Tyler, I'm impressed by the fact you gave credit where it is due for good pet care...It's as important as calling out bad care.This is how people learn .We're not born knowing how to do all these things,but a willingness to learn and change any bad habits is a sign of maturity.That's what Jenna did and what you acknowledged.

Wow. I just found this video through my recommendeds. I'm glad I did. She's actually a friend of mine. Ad was the best thing ever. Everyone who got the pleasure to meet him left a better person. All of her animals have such amazing personalities. Thank you so much for spreading awareness of the importance of animal care. A lot of people don't really spend the time wih their animals that they need. I've always said that they are a big part of our world, but to them, we are their whole world and that just makes you wanna love them so much by the trust that they have in us. He passed of old age. They didn't realize they got him when he was already over a year old and he spent his last year with them. They took him to the vet to ensure it wasn't something -they- did and the vet confirmed it was just very old age.

As an Hamster owner, this makes me so happy. I have two wonderful syrian boys currently. Pet stores hamsters generally have shorter life spans, I think it's due to the suppliers the pet store gets them from. Obviously when getting a hamster you don't get a timer that can tell how long they will life for. I would just like to say that some pet stores and their owners/employees are not horrible. I would also like to note that Hamsters or prey animals are excellent at hiding when they are sick, in pain etc and they can go downhill so fast. Hamsters, despite great care to the best of your abilities and accessibility, they pass from natural causes at any point. There is just so much misinformation out there and you can get lost, or may not know where to look. Making mistakes doesn't mean you're a horrible owner or that you don't care or love your pets as we all start somewhere. Making changes is the best thing you can do. They have an average life span of 2-3 years and it's a short time but I will tell you it is a joy having them. They all have their own personality and traits. My boy is one years old, and a few months and I am worried everyday that he isn't going to be with me and I am just enjoying all the time I have with him. My other boy is around 9 months old, I got him a month or two ago. My boys are olddddd.😥

She loves her pets and gives them incredible love and care.
