I was in the 6th grade when this came out. I remember listening to it on the radio many times and it's funny how the songs we grew up with are the soundtracks of our lives. We associate certain songs with experiences we were having at the time. So I was 12 years old and I had a crush on a girl who was in the 7th grade. At some point it was revealed to her that I liked her and basically I was laughed at. She laughed at me. I felt such a dreaded sense of rejection. This song reminds me of that. But it's still a great song and I could listen to it a thousand times. It just really conjures up memories of that transitional period when I was starting to go through puberty. I am so glad I grew up in the 80's.

Nice new opening India !! I love some Chapman, too. You're my fave reactor. One request, speak on the instruments, talent, etc. OK, I'll keep coming back.

Fun fact, the Ending Theme from Contra was inspired by Suburbia. Just listen. Suburbia - Contra - kzread.info/dash/bejne/e5mim5uen72wdLA.html Suburbia - kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZmozdBvmt2uedY.html It was changed a bit, but you can totally hear it.

Hi, India one of your best reactions in a long line of great reaction videos. It's nice to have a very positive person like yourself making content for everyone to enjoy while they are stuck at home. Keep up your great work!

Taking me back to when I lived in Germany, when new wave tech type synthesizer music was the thing. Always LOVED the harmony in this. Love this, had it on tape lol!

Pet Shop Boys are still a very active duo. They are extremely critically acclaimed and listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records as the most successful duo in British history. They have written for and/or recorded with Tina Turner, Liza Minnelli, Elton John, David Bowie, Kylie, Yoko Ono...etc. They have a song called The Night I Fell In Love about Eminem and a male groupie. CNN actually played it for Dr. Dre on air when it was released! Chris Lowe, the blonde one, is an Eminem fan even though the duo are gay and Eminem has been accused being homophobic. Their 2016 album “Super” was named one of the top ten albums of the year by Rolling Stone magazine. American radio began ignoring them in the early 90’s though they still get plenty of critical acclaim to this day. They have retained their popularity elsewhere. Lady Gaga performed with them when they received a lifetime achievement award in England. The Survivors is a beautiful song, which I think you would love. There is an incredible amount of depth in their work.

Listening to many of my faves in the 80s in live concerts on YT it strikes me; they can all sing, no autotune, just pure voice

This song I believe is not about Dusty or the Pet Shop Boys but for the souls who can relate to this song.I most definitely do and I believe that that's what they would want to hear as a fan as their music. This song hits a home run for me a nod my life.Thank you Pet Shop Boys and Dusty and of course the young lady who posted this video.

Pet Shop Boys recommendations: It's A Sin, Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money), Left To My Own Devices, Where The Streets Have No Name/Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Domino Dancing (extended version), Paninaro (original version), Suburbia, Always On My Mind.

Pet Shop Boys and Dusty Springfield are absolute legends Dusty`s real life story is kind of sad as she struggled with her sexuality and mental health for many years and incredibly even doubted her own talent which is why she disappeared from the music scene for long periods. Sadly she died far too young at just 59.
