It does also say the pad is detachable so that solves your "to short" problem

Yes, but the mouse would become very light at that point, and it may slide around. But, yeah, technically that fixes it a little. Also, once detached from its pad, the mouse can be placed upside-down so that the buttons are now above the ball, which is more comfortable in my opinion. I did try it in that way... it was better... but still not the kind of mouse I would recommend. Thank you for passing by!

Maybe I could put it in the middle in front of my keyboard space key, so I can use it with thumb without moving my right hand at all. I use vim and Vimium C and keyboard a lot and use mouse a little. I have a 60% keyboard, and I really want to find a small trackball that let me do that. Sadly looks like there's no good trackball work like that yet. There are very few 'bar keyboard' or trackball with wrist rest designed for my idea, but they are all a bit stupid to me, I don't need wrist palm at all..

Hey thanks for passing by ;) Perhaps you may one check out the Perix 505. It's a qwerty with an integrated small trackball. Otherwise you could also type "trackball keyboard" on ebay and you will find some more options there too... Some are more consumer and others are more professional level. I have never personally tried any of them, but perhaps it can be of any use. Also you could consider a trackpad? Or a keyboard with integrated trackpad? I hope this helps ;)

Also you could try the Logitech Trackman Portable (if you find it, and if it is still compatible with nowadays systems). The trackball I reviewed in this video, the Perixx 506, is one of the smallest out there. When removing the wrist pad is really small and it would fit easily under the keyboard, but I'm afraid it may be too tall.

the mouse looks upside down, maybe you can try rotate it ? XD

This was my original thought when I've first seen the mouse, to be honest :)

I think perixx is really banking on the fact that people will want new recreations of old mice and keyboards for modern PCs, at the moment I have one of their ergonomic keyboards which is basically a faithful recreation of the Microsoft natural keyboard but more compact and it's great, but this is kinda a joke.

yeah, I agree 100%. I, also, had several Perixx QWERTY that are just great. So I see their brand currently stronger when it comes to keyboards. But I really do hope they gather some user feedbacks about this trackball, and that they'll issue a revision soon... the potential could be there, and I certainly wouldn't mind the vintage look. It is also good to see a manufacturer doing things differently. Thanks for commenting and sticking around ;)

Horrible ergonomic design on every aspect of this trackball, the shape, the position of the scroll wheel and the buttons. I wouldn't pick this up if it was in a bargain bin.

I feel sorry for Perixx, but I know what you mean. I guess the best part of this tb is the price. I hope they'll do better with the next one. Thanks for passing by ;)
