It's kinda cliche ambient. I understand when people who don't smoke and drink got the feeling that they had to stay outside of this. But they are wrong. That's actually a good idea. I remember one time back in the day, I forgot to do my laundry. So I went to a metal core concert in a band shirt and a tuxedo pants. At club everyone was like "that's so god damn heavy metal"!

Im so sorry for the loss of your sister Spencer. This is lovely song in remembrance of her.

This song in particular helped me deal with the death of someone who was very close to me. I can never thank this band enough for the beautiful things they create. Periphery fills me with hope. Remember lads, Don't you dare go hollow.

Mark's riff are always so transcendental....

This is my favourite song by Periphery. P4 came out over a year after I lost my best friend, but it still felt so fresh, and hearing It's Only Smiles felt like Spencer was sitting down with me, having a private conversation about loss. It moves me in ways no other piece of art has. Mike Dawes happens to be my favourite guitarist, and this treatment is absolute perfection. Seeing Spencer outside a show and getting to tell him what this song means to me, knowing what it means to him, was immensely therapeutic, and honestly somehow really helped me heal, even though it was a 15-second conversation. I'll always cherish that moment in the alley behind The Palace Theatre.

Gf was good mates with him for years in his early 20's. He's a beautiful and compassionate man apparently, and I think this song proves it.

Once again proving that you need at least 4 guitarists in a band. This one has the feels in it. 😍

This is a voice that does not deserve auto-tune ... but classic Periphery, just having fun with it.

It's not auto-tune, but I get ya. The layers/effects were a little much. I'm sure I'll get used to it though, it's a great version regardless.

There is definitely auto-tune/pitch correction, but it's layered with a vocoder to simulate the backing vocals from the original - also provides a fuller sound.

It calms down over the course of the song but 0:40 is a little unnecessary, as well as dissonant/out of tune. Does a bit of a disservice to Spencer.

This song helped me cope the loss of my beloved grandma last year. One of my favorite track from P4 but gave a deeper and personal meaning during my grief.

Experienced a lot of loss the past few years. Saw this live the first time they performed it, and I was quite moved by it. So happy to know they sat down and recorded it fully for all of us to enjoy whenever we feel. Thank you, Spencer. Thank you, Mike.

Saw Spencer and Mike perform this live for the first time at the Wildfire tour kickoff in Anahiem. Spencer's younger sister was in the audience. Was incredible and gave me the deepest chills. Love you guys ❤

Genuinely surprised that artists don’t collaborate more with finger style guitarists like Mike Dawes, Petteri Sariola etc. They can provide percussion and more complex rhythm than normal guitarists. Mike did a fantastic job here and hope to see another collab with him soon.
