I didn't notice it at first but in your video at 9:40. It sounds a lot like a verse from 112's Cupid. Cupid doesn't lie. But we won't know unless we give it a try.

Sometimes people really focused on Onew's vocal because he's been known for it, but i think some choreo or particular dance suit him the most, your number is one of the example. Thank you so much for praising his dancing skill.

at their first concert in tokyo dome in 2015 onew was the only one who had a dedicated dance solo. i was so surprised and think it was an absolutely brilliant idea. he was tap-dancing all by himself in front of 50,000 people. that confidence ...

All the yes! And for example View and Lovesick were really good for him. I also feel that whenever he gets rooms for facial expression he shines more. So the practice video doesn't suit him that well.

The choreography for SHINee's "Good Evening" is very deliberate. The reason the choreography is like that is because it depicts the members going through the grieving process and it tells the story of all the emotions they went through and how, now at the end, they have made the choice to continue on as a group and keep on running, etc. This song, and everything about their album The Story of Light, has to do with the death of Jonghyun, their main vocalist, and how much he meant to them, etc."Good Evening" is part of SHINee's 10th anniversary celebration album and they began promoting this album about 5 months after Jonghyun passed away. So, this whole performance is a way for SHINee and us fans to process what happened, and to grieve together. The choreography is really complex and beautiful and really fits the song well. It becomes clearer once you understand the story behind it all. (You should also check out SHINee's rollercoaster version of their "Good Evening" choreography that they performed on the TV show Weekly Idol.) If you notice, none of the members ever make eye contact with the camera and even in their live performances of the song, you will never see them look at the camera. This was done deliberately as well because they wanted to show how in their grief they were blind to everything that was going on around them and they were closed off to the world and didn't care what was happening outside of themselves even though the world was watching their every move. The choreographer for "Good Evening" was Koharu Sugawara, who is a famous Japanese choreographer who has even worked with American artists. Some of her most well known projects are choreographing for several of Taemin's dances, including being featured in Taemin's "Move" MV, as well as the choreographer for Taemin's "Sayonara Hitori", "Flame of Love" and "Want," and also collaborated with several other choreographers on Taemin's "Criminal" MV. Taemin is the youngest member of SHINee and one of the top two BEST dancers in the entire Kpop industry. She has known Taemin for years, so it was really special she was able to work on this project because she got to be a part of SHINee's healing process. And nothing you ever see from SHINee will be like anything you have ever heard or seen before. SHINee's whole concept is that they are SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, which means that they are ALWAYS changing up their sound and style and reinventing the industry with every new release of theirs, even within the same album. The industry looks to SHINee to show them what the next style of song and dance will be. And, not only does it have to be new to them, but it is expected to be something new in the industry overall. So, after more than 13 years they have pretty much done every style of song and dance out there, and yet, they still manage to create something new that is groundbreaking and unique every time.

The choreo for Good Evening was designed so they didn't have to face the audience too much because it was their first comeback without Jonghyun and they were dancing through a lot of emotional pain and just feeling the moment 💙

As an onew biased fan, hearing merv gushing over his dance warmed my heart. My guy is a great dancer he just needs some convincing lol. And yes, because it's shinee. The standards are sky high.

Aww it’s so nice to see someone knowledgeable give Onew and Key their flowers. Any fans of SHINee know Key is a low-key powerhouse dancer, which often gets downplayed because everyone always focuses on Taemin. Onew, however, also puts in the work. He definitely shines the most in certain choreo and when he chooses to infuse the choreo with his personality.

I love how he knows precisely the truths of the group based on their dancing. They're tight knit but still individuals. Even on stage. Syncing is great and all but shinee is known for having individual flair thrown in instead of just copy and paste for every single member. And they still make space for jonghyun. And onew in your number is channeling his musical stage performer. It really suited him. Key is just that diva master performer.. period

i am happy that people recognize Onew dancing because he have his own relaxed style

This reaction was amazing.😍 I know Onew is not the best dancer in SHINee, but whenever I watch "Your Number" he clearly stands out for me. The choreo suits him perfectly and I loved that he pointed that out. Normally people praise Onew for his voice, but never for his dancing.

Love when i see people loving Shinee. They are an amazing group. All are super talented. Hope to see more Shinee reactions. I especially love when my bias Onew is appreciated. My soft spot.

What a great reaction it was! He knew right off the bat that SHINee was a group with close members (not that other groups aren't, it's jsut that SHINee have some unique vibe), and how he complimented Onew and Key was refreshing! DCM was definitely Key's era, the dance really suits his dancing style, and he's really sharp there Anyway, I have a little recommendation: Eunhyuk released his first solo song called "Be", and it's amazing, the MV is really beautiful, and there's a dance performance as well 😊

This was so much fun to watch! I hope you'll show him Taemin's Criminal (and/or dance practice) and Key's Bad Love (and/or dance performance vid) so he can see more of them and their dancing! I would love to see his reaction to those. I'm also so happy he pointed out Onew in Your Number. Onew is always overlooked with his dancing abilities but he is a member of a group with some of the most complex and hard choreos out there, and he never lags behind or can't keep up. He really is a very, very good dancer who just gets overshadowed by some of the others but he is still amazing in his own right. It's like Key and his vocals; people often overlook his vocal talent because he is in a group with Onew and Jonghyun, but his vocals are really outstanding on their own (as shown in Bad Love!). SHINee is just that group where everyone is phenomenal. Just a top-tier group all around and I feel so lucky and proud that they are the ones I stan. Also I love the fact he called Minho cute during his hardcore Don't Call Me verse! 😂

Considering that Onew never received any of the basic dance lessons the others did and his first time dancing was to Shinee's debut song he's amazing.

I think picking out Onew and Taemin for Your Number makes so much sense, since the choreo and performance vibe very much feels like musical theatre and Onew has done musicals and acting the most out of all of them, you can see it in their woof woof performance too, he really shines when he can play with getting into characters and story. Meanwhile Good Evening is totaly Keys song performance wise, it just fits him so well and you cant help but stare at him. Jonghyun really shined more with some of their either more agressive or sexier songs, like Taeming and Jonghyun together in excuse me miss very much felt like a battle of who do you look at.

Not taking anything away from the wonderful Onew, but I think Key has done the most musicals.

That was fun to watch! 13 years in the industry and still serving that much talent. King Shinee!

this is so amazing to get someone so knowledgeable about dance and choreo but they are new to Shinee. since Shinee debuted when they were teens, this means now there are SO MANY videos for him to see. shinee has many iconic choreo and legendary LIVE performances. the moment he said he wanted to see full dances, i wanted to tell him that not only do the guys perform intense choreo and difficult moves in sync with each other... but also while singing live and still their vocals are high quality. top notch dancers and top notch vocalists and top notch performers/artists/entertainers. they are legendary for what they have brought and are still bringing to the industry. the longevity of their career as a group speaks for itself as well as their strong solo work too in their individual projects to explore more and experiment

He wants to see their full dance routine? I recommend watching SHINee World IV in Tokyo Dome (like the first 20-25min).

i LOVE seeing jinki love and recognition !! also yesss taemin's able to make sure whoever's center shines. it's why he works so well in superm too. he could go all out and steal the show but he makes sure he blends in when he's not the focus and helps make the center's performance better.

So one thing about Good Evening was their choreographer specifically gave them a choreo for them to rest during their concerts because she said when she was watching their concerts she felt bad that all of their dances didn't give them time to breathe. I'm still very thankful to her for that, she had a Shawol heart there ^^

I wasn't a proper Shawol back when Good Evening was released. I watched the mv as a casual fan and the section with chair choreo just blew me away, it was so artistic especially in the mv where all 4 of them were doing the choreo under a plastic sheet. That was a Cultural reset for me.

I think Onew thinks of himself as a vocalist, and focuses so much on improving and finessing his vocal skills that he genuinely overlooks how talented he is as a dancer. He really gets the groove and flow of certain songs and their choreography which probably also relates to his vocal skills anyway. Meanwhile I can't sing OR dance so like????

It's always sooo interesting to watch actual dancers who have no idea about the band, react to them. Like, they are unbaised (even if this guy found Minho to be cute, and got a bit distracted😂), and look at these choreo's with a fresh pair of eyes. And I like how it usually takes them all a couple of minutes to recognize Taemin. It's always so funny, because Taemin is a real dancer, not just an idol dancer, and the difference is huge - for example, unlike your usual idol dancer, trained dancers don't overpower every single move, they know when to hold back, when to power up.

Another thing about Good Evening, when you see a live performance of that song, the members usually don’t look at a camera. It’s part of the story telling of the choreography. It’s an amazing song with flawless choreography. 💎 Thank you for reacting to these songs!!! I hope you can also look at SHERLOCK (Clue + Note) it was once the most expensive choreography SM paid for. And LUCIFER (dance practice), some people say that it revolutionized kpop when it was released because it was the first time Kpop Idols were taken seriously as dancers because of the hard choreography. 💖 Thank youuuu!

SHINee is a group that work really well together but their individual styles always show. Personally, for me, key owner DCM. He was really putting a lot of energy into the DONT call me 😂 SHINee are a beautiful & lovely group. Once you get into them you will never get out.

Taemin (all of SHINee, honestly) tries to move as a part of the unit when he's performing with the group. I feel like the magnitude of his stage presence is displayed better in his solo performances since he's always the one in the spotlight and doesn't have to bother reigning in his aura

Merv is my new favourite for pointing out Onew’s dance skills. Obviously Onew will never be at the same level as Taemin, but most reactors ignore Onew when they comment on the dancing.

This reaction was amazing! I loved how he pointed out Onew in "Your Number" because i too think the song really suits him! Also loved how he pointed out Taemin in the same song and in the second half of "Don't call Me", he really has an eye for those sort of things! You really should show him more performances of him and Taemin's full potential! Obviously you also should show him more Key since he loved his dancing so much! Thank you so much for praising Onew's dancing 😭 I feel a bit sad whenever he said he is bad at dancing, like he's not bad at all, he has the grooves, whenever he is really into the performance he dances so beautifully. I hope he'll feel so much better abt himself in the future, but I get it, he's always so strict abt his own performances (in some videos of him monitoring their live performances, when SHINee ofc being themselves like usual and still goofing around while monitoring, whenever Onew's part comes you can see his face stiffen up and so focused to check on how he was doing on stage, he barely smiles). It's obv not my place to tell him not to push too hard on himself, since he is just being hardworking and it's not necessarily a bad thing, but I just hope he'll find the balance and peace between being a perfectionist and enjoying himself and also keep shining brighter and brighter.

Your Number was my Gateway Drug. The FLOOR! It's so much more challenging because of the floor. I never see this mentioned. Often I spend the whole video just watching how they place their feet. To track that as well...so good. Merv is a gem!

thank you so much for appreciating each member of this wonderful group! it's really amazing how all members just blend with one another... you can't really tell who's the main dancer, vocal, rapper, visual until they do their 'solo' part. MVs are great but performance and practice videos are soooo much better when it comes to SHINee :)

Please have more reaction videos with Merv! He is so professional and expresses himself well. I’ve seen some very boring reaction from professional dancers without any emotion. He enjoyed it and knows how to appreciate and respect, the audience can see it and enjoy his reaction as well.
