Ingredients:
Pork ribs - 2 racks
Onions - 3 pcs.
Garlic - 2 cloves
Ginger - 2 inches (5 cm)
Honey - 1 tbsp.
Thyme - a few sprigs
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Dark beer - 6.8 fl oz (200 ml)
Water - 3.4 fl oz (100 ml)
Preparation:
Remove the membrane from the ribs.
Cut one rib at a time.
Salt and pepper both sides liberally.
Heat a little frying oil in a saucepan.
Fry the ribs on both sides until golden in batches over high heat.
Meanwhile, chop the ginger and garlic finely.
Cut the onions into half rings.
Remove the ribs from the saute pan.
In the same saute pan, fry the ginger and garlic for 1 minute.
Add the onions.
Stir-fry until lightly golden, salt a little.
Add the honey and stir.
Return the ribs to the saucepan and stir.
Pour in the beer and water.
Stir.
Add the thyme.
Cover with a lid and bring to a boil.
Turn the heat down to low.
Simmer for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, turn the heat up to high and remove the lid.
Stirring periodically to evaporate the moisture and caramelize the ribs.
Remove the thyme.
Serving.
