Just the feet position alone is something I am going to implement immediately. Great stuff thanks Szat and Dave!
I really enjoy videos where Joey finds someone who's really good at coaching and then listens really carefully to them. It shows that despite his athletic ability he still stays humble and is willing to learn. A great role model for younger lifters
Definitely needed this! got bench today and it’s my worst lift for sure

Keep working on it, get the technique well and go from there. The bench used to be one of my worst lifts too. Go kill it 👍
This is such good company for working out
That sticking point analogy and demonstration was one of thr best pieces of education I've ever had in regards to the bench
gotta watch this video twice. Once from the perspective of an athlete and once from the perspective of a coach. So much solid info here!
Needed this thanks! “Ribs up” was like wow!
This is GOLD knowledge mate!
These are my favorite Dave videos, I learn so much that I can apply to my own technique. Watching live coaching is very helpful.
Their is so much solid info in this video! Thank you for that!
Superb stuff guy’s. Keep it coming 👌🏼
Good video! Really like Daves coaching! And Joey listens!
Great video and insight as always! ✊🏼👊🏼
Bro, listening to you talk about how you have always benched it EXACTLY how I do it too. Nice slow controlled down and nice slow controlled up. Guess I gotta put this video on and walk through my bench press this evening lol
This is a fantastic video. So much good info.
Great video. Learned a lot
Great stuff as usual.. Thanks.
I need to switch my entire bench technique now. Thanks guys!
Phenomenal information in this video!
Best of luck with that 500 bench. I'm working towards a 360max as a 6ft, 190lb lifter.

308 is my best in competition, hoping to break that later this year! The chains and close-grip inclines have really helped my lockout, thanks Dave!
Awesome video!
Would love to see you go back to Dave after the 6 weeks and for him to see the differences. Awesome stuff Joey/Dave. Keep it coming.
Great video!
110% agree! i'm a seasoned lifter, i bench 380, deadlift 600 and squat 500 and this movement humbles the fuck out of me!! my gym got one about a year and a half ago and i use it about once a week. my only tip is take it slow! its not a clean and press. pay attention to ur form.
I’m a little late to watching this but it’s gonna help me so much! My bench has been stuck in the same range for a long time
A lot of people dont even know how to do proper pushups. It is almost impossible to expect they would perfect the bench press.
Good stuff gentlemen coach Joey looking "Szat Swole!!"👌💪😎
25:15 gold. GOLD!
This is an awesome bench press video. What are thoughts on suicide grip for bench press?
Great insight
its interesting to see that even someone as advanced as you sitll does technique work
I thought i was doing pretty good with a 315 max this dude just made 315 look like my 135 rep speed

Yeah for your weight it is considered really good. I’m 145lbs and max out at 295lbs bench and my form is terrible lol. Hoping with better form I can break 300lbs without needing to get heavier.
at 55 6-1 i HAve VERY LONG ARMS. thanks for this !!

I was obviously genetically modified with orangutan DNA because I have really long ass arms for my size lol. I feel you
Dave have anywhere where shows a simple program? Like when he is talking 3 week wave... do you just do the speed work 3 wks and then maybe 3wks of speed with chains? What to do after? Maybe just speed with slightly heavier wt than you started?
More raw workout videos Joe! 💯
When are you and juji going to do a long-form upper body workout with Dave tate
Still dont know what the fuck conjugate is😐
I don't agree with unracking at all unless you are already a power lifter. First, with long arms fixed bench my arms are not straight dragging the bar out. Second, you need to make sure you can lift the weight and are set up properly by lifting up then out. If you cannot, you just lower it back down to the rack instead of dumping the weights should you not have a spotter. If you cannot handle the extra half second lift time, you really need to do something else. Now you drag out as a power lifter because someone else is spotting for you, and racking/unracking is not part of the competition, just overhead down and up is it. You can only drag straight out when your arms are locked, meaning it is your gym or the rack is adjustable and it perfectly set ahead of time for your arm length. My gym isn't variable height rack and it is too low several inches. So the bar is up to lock the arms extended, then bring the weight out. Now at 500 pounds that half second might be another lift, but 0.01% of viewers are going to get there. Most just want to get in shape and build strength.
why no pause for speed work i must know lol pls
@Nick.McIntyre

It's how muscles work with force couple and length-tension relationships. At the maximal stretching point, your muscle wants to hit the contraction hard. Think of your muscle like a rubber band, when it stretches, all it wants to do is go back. Pausing negates that and focuses on the stretch vs the explosive movement out of the bottom, which is still beneficial, just not for building explosive strength.

@@Nick.McIntyre thanks , was wondering why we pause on everything but speed work
@Nick.McIntyre
2 жыл бұрын
@@jackluke9960 the pause is required for the competition lift, so obviously you need to train with it. Like Dave says about the sticking point though, you can't develop that power from a pause.
