Stovetop popcorn is infinitely better than microwave popcorn or air-popped popcorn. If you haven’t made it yet, you’ve been missing out!
INGREDIENTS
5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
200g (a small cup) popcorn kernels
Salt, to taste
HERE'S HOW YOU DO IT
Turn on the pan on high heat.
Pour oil and popcorn corn and salt into a large pan - the corn must not be in layers.
As soon as the popcorn starts to pop, put a splash guard or lid on.
Let the popcorn pop - if you use a lid, lift the lid a little from time to time so that some of the steam escapes - it makes them crispier. But make sure the popcorn doesn't pop all over the place :-)
When they stop popping turn off the heat and remove the lid.
Pour the finished popcorn into a large bowl and sprinkle with salt. Serve them immediately while still warm.
