A big problem with the movie was they cast the actors 10 yrs too old they supposed to be 12 -13 they looked 22-24 in the movie

so to clarify, Sally couldn’t tell Percy anything because (like said in the first scene) once he knows what he is, monsters will know it too. ignorance keeps demigods safe in the mortal world. and the mythic Perseus isn’t a god, he was an ancient Greek hero that Percy is named after.

Fun fact the titles are chapter names from the book

Fun fact Percy's mom is one of the few mortals who can see through the mist. And the author made a cameo in the principals office

By the way, Perseus is the hero who slayed Medusa, the snake haired monster that I think Malachi was referencing in the beginning

Also for adults Book readers are now adults who watch like me who've read the books. This series is SOO very much on point with the wrighter working on the series as well They pick up in up coming episodes, #2 will be very enjoyable , more information is given in the show for non book readers.

There are 5 books originally in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series there is also the Heroes of Olympus series (5 books) plus The Trials of Apollo series (5 books) which continues the stories and The Kane Chronicles (3 books) and Magnus Chase and the gods of Asgard. Oh and The Percy Jackson series just had book 6 come out and book 7 is on it's way.

Some humans can see through the mist but I can’t really explain that yet but usually they’ll think they’re seeing stuff unless they are fully aware of The Greek gods 16:40

The movie is honestly one of the worst book to movie adaptations to ever exist. But the show is excellent.

I LOVED Greek mythology as a kid so I remember enjoying the movie when it came out and wanting to see a sequel. For some reason I never read the books. But this first episode intrigued me at least. And is just making me want to go a read my Greek mythology books again 🤣

I fuckin loved these books almost as much as the Harry potter series this is far more accurate than the movie the movie was ok if u had no reference but with reference its not that good.

i’m happy you guys are reacting to this. i love the books. they’re on harry potter level for me. i love the series, i’m so happy there’s an accurate adaptation which the movies did not do the books any justice whatsoever. the cast is great too. also i get the “its for kids” thing, but trust they get more mature in the later books as percy ages. this is just the beginning/foundation. also percy’s mom couldn’t tell him sooner because once demi-god’s know what they are, monsters will sense that and come after them.

The 1st movie has mixed reviews. As a book reader (and after watching the show), I can confidently say the show is way better than the movie. I rewatched the movie and it's okay. It's entertaining but that's it. The 2nd movie is just terrible.@@3rdstreetreactions

As someone who saw the movies like almost 10 years ago(and have read the books not so long ago) I did enjoy the first one although they weren't a good adaptations. And even if u look at it as something individual it still had some plot holes as well as they changed so many origin greek mythology aspects to fit into their narrative. The movie took some parts of the book and instead of elevating those they made it more flat and bland. Them aging up the characters was already ruining the whole general plot of the first five books and not only that the characters had no personality. If u look at it it really was a generic hollywood movie which is kinda sad to say because the books have so much layered meaning to things and its overall plot. The show on the other hand while adapting it ofc they made changes as well but they r good changes, they only elevate what the books had gave and made it smarter I feel like since the book was also written so long ago the author himself stated that he would like to fix some things. I think ur gonna enjoy it more and more as its gonna progress and see the world building when it comes to this adaptation. I wish there was more runtime for the episodes tho but given what they had i feel like they r doing an incredible job and the writing is sharp and smart.

1. Step dad is straight up abusive in the books. 2. The reason the mother stays with the step dad is because he "stinks" so bad he hides Percy's smell to the monsters.
