It's almost been two years for me. I absolutely feel the first guy. But I gotta say, I kinda envy the terms they ended on. There are some people who you just can't get over. If the times were great, if you changed each other for the better, or in my case, they hit me where it hurts over and over again. My most recent ex girlfriend broke me hard, sent me a list of things she disliked about me, made me believe that the whole thing was my fault (and I still kinda believe it is), and her last words to me were "We can't be friends, and I hate you." It broke me, and pushed me to go into a massive reflection and reformation. I've been tackling everything bad about myself, and making myself a better man than I could have imagined myself being. I met my current closest friends, made connections with people who helped me excel in everything I do, and best of all, I'm feeling good again. I'm still not ready to date, I'm not healed, and I'm still afraid of getting close with someone in that way, but I'm definitely in a better place than I was. So, to my ex, if you read this, thanks for breaking my heart. It's the best thing, and the only good thing, you ever did to me.

As I spoke to my Ex, and split up with him, I let him time to message me again. But after that message and my respond, I blocked him. But only on the main messenger. It's a kind of self protecting. He had my phone numbers and could message through fb. But I'm glad he didn't, because I don't want to be his friend. There happened to much stuff that still triggers my anxiety and causes bad memories. Still trying to let go of these, after now almost two years.

This was really sad. You can see how technology doesn’t allow for us to see the person we’re speaking to and know the kind of impact we’re making. There’s a lot of unresolved pain here. If you work through your pain, you can come out of the other side understanding your ex, you don’t have to be with them, but you can speak to them and be a good ex, regardless of what happened. Just lots of inner work that everyone avoids.

Exes don't realize how much they hurt people and it makes people so toxic.

It does not matter for whose sake is forgiven, the act of forgiving in my understanding is to accept and forget what has happened and to not bear any kind of grudge or other negative feelings towards the forgiven person, whoever's sake the act of forgiveness does not matter at all (might be both or just one side). When a relationship that actually meant something to you, doesn't work out, it's like death, only worse. They don't go into the ground, you bump into them again and the pain and the hurt come right back up. Try your best to heal from the pain and the hurt, it's possible! :)

Boundaries are necessary. Some people require more boundaries than others, but it isn't easy. In my experience it is quite difficult because you have to hold yourself accountable in the weaker moments. Loving someone is not the standard, it's the treatment you receive and give to the people you love, and when that has flopped...you do what you have to do. As for romantic relationships, I have yet to be with someone where contact and friendship were possible afterwards, but it would be nice to do so with someone.

Yes... I sometimes start overthinking things and get very anxious bc I just never really replied back. I saw no point to reply. I just hope I am not remembered in a bad way. This person wanted me to go away and as hard it was I just had to accept it. I guess I did the right thing. It still makes me anxious to think what if I could have done something differently. I have stopped myself from reading old messages. It hurts too much. Based on how the last convos were, you could tell he didn't want to talk to me anymore... So I guess he is happier now that I am gone. But yeah... the last texts still haunt me to this day and give bad anxiety.

@@ShinkuGouki sometimes I do. But I learned to appreciate the memories, but move forward. People have to grasp the concept of "there are better things out there." There really are. We get so stuck on our exs and some of us think that we will never find someone better, but there really is somethibg better, much better
