"Don't worry love, I'll be out soon" Those were the last words from my caregiver who raised me when my mom was at work. She died in the hospital, and I wasn't allowed to go and see her because I was under 13 at the time, so my mom made a video of her saying that she will be out soon, and that she will be fine, that I'll het to see and hug her soon, and she passed away a week later. She was my mom's best friend and my other mom.

The last thing my dad texted me wasn’t heartbreaking or had a deep meaning to it. He just told me my older half brother was coming over and was going to clean our Aunt’s horse stalls. He sent it on March 16th, 2022 at 1:58 pm, 12 days before he would suffer a heart attack early in the morning. His birthday was on Valentines Day. He loved The Beatles, horror movies, kites, sweets, and his children. I’m pretty sure he addressed us by our nicknames more than our actual names- I was “Little Pot”, my sister was “Boogie”, and our half brother was “Buster” . I love you Daddy, happy Father’s Day. You were the best dad I could ever ask for. Rest In Peace.

My soul mate/best friend died by suicide a few weeks ago. The last texts he sent me was an old photo of us that said “I love you so f*cking much” and then “please reach out to me”. He did get to talk to several friends on the phone that night as he was passing (overdose) and I feel guilty that I’m glad I didn’t answer. Now my main memories of him were the weeks prior around Christmas time while we were so happy together, just having so much fun celebrating the holidays and being together 24/7.

I met someone online in a game, and we played a lot together, and it always made me happy on my worst days. One day, she wasn’t online, which was a bit weird, because she would at least be online every day to see if I texted her, but I ignored it. The next day she wasn’t online too, and the next day too... those days turned into weeks, those weeks turned into months and those months turned into two years, where I haven’t seen her be online once. Her last text was “Hello! Wanna play anything?” And I said no, because I was with my other friend... I regret saying no. I don’t know if she just quit without saying bye or anything, or if she is even still alive, because I know she had depression and problems in her family... I miss her so bad...

Ok so my grandmother died today due to a heart attack at 6am So her last words to me was "i will be alright right?" "I will come home right" she said this when she was having shortness of breath at my home minutes before we took her to hospital and died 1 day after I felt so helpless and thought to myself i couldn't fulfill her one wish of coming home,she wanted to live but her body was already very fragile,her body endured everything that the universe threw at her but she lost it when her lung got fluid in it. She did come home,but not alive.

You doing ok? My grandma died too recently. Her stomach bled out, I barely saw her she lived across the world. A couple months before that my grandpa got really sick got covid, the last thing I remember heard him say was I love you too. If you need someone to talk to I’m right here.

Not a text, and not a loved one, but my deceased grandfather's last note he ever gave me was a birthday card. It has the usual cash he would always send every year. But I remember him writing, "Always keep writing, you really have a gift. Next time you write something I'd love to read it." Our family wasn't talking to him at the time because we knew he was an awful, disgusting human being, but having those supportive things said about me still made me feel special. I wasn't saddened by his death as an individual, but I was saddened by the loss of a family member. I don't know where he is right now, but I hope he knows that even though I will never forgive him for his actions, his words still meant something to me and inspired me to keep writing.

I want to thank the people that shared their stories in this video. Y’all made me cry. I haven’t cried in a long time. In fact I’ve been super numb. I’ve been super down and lacking much, if any motivation. This video got me thinking about how short life is and how any time I talk to anybody could be the last time. I haven’t spoken or reached out to anybody in a very long time. Guess you could say I’ve shut people out because it’s easier to avoid getting hurt. I’m gonna work on being more forgiving and being there for the few people in my life still. I found my biological dad last year but haven’t even attempted to form a relationship with him. I think I’ll call because I know I’d regret not calling if he died before I got the chance.

Stumbled across this video and just started crying at everyone’s comment . It’s extremely hard losing a loved one. Especially if it’s so sudden. I lost my dog 4 years ago, the thing that’s eating me alive is the fact no one was there when she died at the vets. I never got to say goodbye to her as she was dying. I only saw her after. I hate myself for not comforting her. But, sometimes I see her in my dreams. I know she’s just a dog but she was my best friend. She still is. I love you so much.

I wish I could've said goodbye. In both cases there was no time to do so. First happened unexpectedly and the second one we didn't want to tell him what was happening so nobody got to say goodbye. Also we had no idea it was going to be that quick. I wish I could spend just one more day with them.

My dads last text to me was “Thinking of you. Rough night. I’m in the icu now. Love you.” I’ll miss and think of him every single day. My heart is broken. I’m so sorry that we all know what this feels like, but I know we can get through it together ❤️

"I'm ready" I know I'm 3 years late to this but I couldn't help but share my aunt's story. My Aunty Noel was the youngest of 2 siblings, and had an addiction to alcohol. My other aunty was getting ready to take Noel to an alcoholic addiction helping house where she would live until she was given the clear. Noel had been forced to do this by her family and the police that had caught her drinking and driving. My other aunty received a text on the day of the move that Noel was ready to be picked up from her house, but in Noel's mind she never had an intention of going anywhere. When my other aunty arrived at Noel's house she found Noel had hung herself in her kitchen. This absolutely tore my other aunt's heart to pieces and from that day on she has never been the same. This was in 2016. People decide to do some things without thinking first, and to anyone struggling with a loss of a loved one, I will always be here to listen to you and relate to you. I can understand what you would be going through. I say this with full meaning, you are not alone.

Her talking about her grandma hit hard. My grandma had this terminal illness for her last 40-50 years before she passed and because of that my earliest memories of her were my best. Seeing her deteriorate over the years was devastating her last 10 or 15 years was in and out of hospital always nauseous and sick and in pain. She couldnt leave the house and when she did it was either shopping breifly going to doctors or occasionally a family gathering. For some reason the last 3-4 years I had the thought that I'd miss her when she went and I never wanted to wish I could have done more, so whenever she went to hospital I'd see her atleast every day or every other day and do whatever I could when I saw her to try and make her happy or help her. Last year 2 days before my 21st birthday she passed and I got to see her in hospital and say goodbye. She was slightly responsive when I arrived and lifted her head when I told her I was there but towards the end she was pretty much unresponsive. I couldnt go to her funeral because of lockdowns we had and even a year on I cant celebrate or recognize my birthday because it hurts loosing her so much. I still go see her once a month at the cemetary to talk to her and cry because I dont want to forget her and what she did for us growing up and how much she loved us. I love you grandma

I was a papa’s girl but he did something that made me resent him so much. I also did rebellious deeds to piss him off. It’s been 4 years since he passed but it feels like it happened yesterday. I have lots of regrets and here’s some, one is we didn’t get to make up and I didn’t check his messages because I hated him. And I wish I did. I only saw this message few days after he passed.
