neither Starmer or the Speaker behaved badly. The Speaker took account of convention , departed from it as he was entitled to do and published the clerks advice which said so.. Penny left that bit out because it did not suit her

Mordaunt is a known liar and was sacked by Johnson. MOD complained she was too busy campaigning to be the leader - never available for meetings - whilst in charge of UK defence. ie. A liar and self obsessed. Sounds like all the other Tory leaders.

Much though Penny Mordant gives out good stuff she glosses over the fact that her last minute withdrawal of the Tory amendment was the immediate cause of the Speaker's embarrassment. The Speaker had agreed that all 3 amendments (SNP, Labour and Conservative) could be voted upon. The Tory withdrawal destroyed this.

She does seem very formidable, and I used to rate her big time. However, the "stand up and fight" speech did it for me.

Sunak is a gutless git that caves in to anything. Truss was not given the time and that multi-faced back stabbing Hindu git got the job unopposed, both Penny and Boris withdrew from the contest leaving it a one horse race chosen by Tory MP's not the grassroots of the party that elected Truss, I think had it gone to a contest between the 3 at grassroots level Penny would have won it Sunak last, the way he was "chosen" has blown the Tory party apart
