How can Penny destroy anybody when she’s part of the latest Conservative government who in 14 years have seen the national debt at a level not seen in the UK since 1945 , hypocrisy at its worst . All her hot air speech is doing is diversifying away from the fact that she is a mouthpiece for a inept government who did not want her when she had a shot at running ran for post of PM . Lied during the Brexit referendum and lied during the 2019 General Election . David Cameron , Theresa May, Boris Johnson , Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak have contributed to this catastrophe failure and yet they try to blame everyone else.

I have witnessed 2x Labour Governments in my time, the 1st wasn’t working with uncollected litter everywhere with billboard posters stating… ‘Labour isn’t Working.’ The 2nd chance, the Chancellor himself Gordon Brown ended up PM & when the Tories finally got back in to clear up 9-10 years of mess, the country was near bankrupt under the Chancellor then PM!! Have you paid any attention to Tory run England? Have you forgotten already about the PPE scandals, how the Tories DIDNT take back control and close the Borders during COVID? How every major building project ordered by the Tories and the last labour governments have been a farce and £BILLIONS over budget? Aircraft carriers, can't last more than a day or two at sea without breaking down, new fighting vehicles overdue, over budget and can't fire while moving. HS2, London sewers, London Cross rail, Elizabeth underground line, over budget and delivered late if at all. Councils in England going bankrupt. Cases of Rickets on the rise for the last 4 or 5 years, cities plagued with rats, mordaunt's city Portsmouth, 450,000 rats estimated there.

You have to sensibly look at what is in the control of UK government, what is in the control of devolved national government, and what is in the control of local government. You cannot hold a UK government of one party responsible for what is in the direct control of a different government led by a different party, or a local government of a different party. If you have an issue with bin collection under a Green local government, or the NHS under a different party in control of a devolved government, then you have to vote appropriately for change at that level of government, not against those that are not responsible for those devolved decisions at increasing localised levels.

Also, it will be people who don't have our best interests that will put that lot in power.

One thing I am absolutely certain of is that if Labour had been in charge for the last 14 years and during covid the country would be in a far worse state than it is now. If Mordaunt was leader I believe there is a chance I might vote for her instead of the diminutive Sunak.

@@paulukjames7799 That is a little misleading. Yes National debt in 2010 was 1.5 trillion today it is 2.5 but most of that increase happened with Covid spending. The rest was inflation. As a % of GDP the only significant increase coincided with Covid spending. In case you hadn't noticed. There are events going on out there in the world that are out of the control of UK politicians. To believe that Labour would have been able to control these external events and avoided the fallout any better, would require an impressive level of delusion.

Milk snatching? That was started under Harold Wilson, LABOUR. Thatcher got the blame because she had to oversee what Wilson started and Labour is very good at finger pointing, notice that The conservatives didn't point fingers when LABOUR began ending free milk. Tuition fees? LABOUR Making it a legal requirement for the NHS to open bidding wars periodically instead of sticking with suppliers they know? Putting the NHS up for sale to the lowest bidder. LABOUR Consistently voting against policies to deal with illegal immigration? LABOUR Advocating for dismantling NATO, ending the nuclear deterrent and cutting back on defence? LABOUR The Tory's may not be angels, but they do also get a lot of flak for things that LABOUR initiated on their way out of the door; Or for making necessary, but unpopular decisions that labour had avoided for years while in power. Just look at Starmer's current record. Constantly making loud catchy grand announcements, then quietly walking them back a week later when reality kicks in and he realises that he cannot deliver them. Or grandly announcing that Labour would do something that the Tories already started without fanfare. The Tories may have made mistakes, easy to point out with 20/20 hindsight. But in comparison Labour in government currently looks likely to be an unmitigated disaster, they spend all of their time complaining or smearing dirt, but zero time offering actual solutions. Promising unicorns and rainbows without offering an actual plan of how they intend to deliver.
