I like the comparison of gruden and blueger. I'd be nice if he turns into that type of player. I too think he could add something positive and gritty to this line up.
Not Pens related but I stand by the West being the better conference this year so I predict the Oilers are battle-worn and wounded - just like the Panthers last year. I'm not saying the Rangers or Bruins were an easy series to get through, but I think the Panthers are in better shape than the Oilers. Not to mention, I think the travel is going to favor the Panthers. IIrc, they were a seller road team this year. I'm also getting strong Pens '09 vibes. A team a little overly excited to get to the Finals, playing injured, possibly a little undisciplined learning from their mistakes and playing deservedly the very next year. Either way, I am SO EXCITED for these Finals! I think it's going to be an amazing battle!
Now the reason Sid was incognito in Toronto was to say hello to Matt Murray. He is a UFA…off LTIR and is skating at the centre. A two way…league minimum…mentor the kid🤔 Dubas is on a bargain bin binge, recognizing cap space is the new trade capital in the NHL. He might be prudent with that cap space to be in a position to make moves at the trade deadline.
Although, to a point, I agree with you about Ned, what you're not taking into account is just how competitive he is, how the confidence he has in himself I believe helped and transferred in the team, and the team has a confidence in him that they just do not when it comes to Jarry. That my friends does not show up on direct stats of his but means so much. I say, like Murrey unproven and yet won 2 cups, give him 2 yrs × 1.8-2.0 mill bring up the kid and let's get Jarrys $$ off the table and go sign Zadorov 5yrs × 5.5-6.0 mill to secure 2nd line with a healthy Tanger while Petterson 5yrs × 6.0 mill played fantastic with Karlsson as 1st line. Better defense in front of Ned and Bloomqvist and still some $ + trade Smith to see what we can get.......
Yes, Nick my Stars pick fell just short. I'm going with Cats in 7. I feel Florida is the deeper team with a better goalie. Barkov Conn-Smyth.

He’s thinking of 2016 against Tampa bay
Congrats to Nick on fatherhood, the circle of life
Kenny Chesney? C'mon, Horwat. You're better than that.
